I am going to change my Addams Family back to the standard version from the Gold Roms for competitive play.
Which version is best. My original Roms are L-4
But I see the Planatery has up to L-5 and Action Pinball has up to L-7.
Which one should I order?

L-5 is the latest official rom with coin play

Thanks for the info.
Coin play not a factor though.
Anyone know any upgrades or bug fixes in L-7.
I can’t find any notes on it.

Wow. After spending half an hour trying to find out what does what, the lack of info on the L-7 code and some others is astounding. (Action Pinball has the most info but even it is lacking)
I am going to stick with L-5 as it seems to be the latest official code and the others don’t even list what they are supposed to fix.

Think you need the L-7 for Colordmd... And heard something about LEDs

Now that Color DMD is interesting. I will ask them about it.
I only have two games not is color and Addams is one of them.

Just checked and sure enough it list L-7 as required if not Gold Roms.
That settles it

I know I'm necroposting, but I wanted to say that L-7 is NOT required for ColorDMD. My TAF has L-4 (non-gold) and ColorDMD works 100% perfectly.

To add on to the original thread, if you always want the latest official version, get it from pinball.com - they're not going to post any of the post-factory revisions people cook up, although you might think they're quasi-official because when you get them from other sources (like ipdb) they have the williams license boilerplate attached. It would likely be a lot of work to figure out from the code end what was changed which is why I always encourage the rom modders to use some of the empty space in a rom (there's usually some!) to put a changelog within the rom itself that anyone could read with a hex editor.
