Hi, I'm new here so please forgive me if i dork this up. I've checked for duplicate threads, and read every thread i could related to TAF before posting this question. I know very little technically about pinball control board chips, so i may have read something relevant, but not inderstood it.

I want to buy an Addams Family, but do not like the Gold version. Can you put original TAF chips in a Gold machine and have it behave as a non-Gold version?

Specifically, I'm not a fan of the different sound bites on the Gold version, and the seemingly random large point awards. But mostly the different sounds, and loss of some sounds, disappoint me with the Gold.

Since i know so little technically about the games inner workings, a very in-depth tech explanation would be over my head. I need a simple answer to this question. I know that i could just look at original TAFs, but that limits my choices condition wise. If i could make a Gold machine behave as if it were a standard machine it greatly expands my available options.

Thanks LTG and Russ, i appreciate your Help. If i end up buying a Gold I'll contact John and buy the chips. I've got a standard Addams Family machine and want to buy a machine in much better condition, then sell the one i currently own, which is a standard Addams Family. Gotta love that damn machine, it's great!
