seems like the last few weeks everybody is trying to dump their ac/dc's. guess rumors are true?

Good thing it happens to be on the OP's wishlist. So no vested interest in seeing the price drop or anything....
1. They aren't "flooding" the market.
2. The prices on AC/DC are still going up and demand far outweighs supply (check the marketplace).
3. I don't care if they rerun it - and I don't think they will.
4. I don't care how much you offer me...you may not buy mine.
Quoted from thunderking50:Since the rumor is true...I am selling my Luci 3000$ !
PM sent!
I own AS and I don't think it's better or really worse than AC/DC, only a little different. Both are great. It was because I enjoyed AC/DC so much that in time I knew I wanted a band themed pin. I purchased AS the first minute available and it was all really due to AC/DC. I'd love to have both.
Quoted from musketd:It's cause Aerosmith is better and more fun
While AC/DC is awesome, it is no longer the Latest and Greatest. It's already starting to look, feel and sound a bit dated compared to the newest crop of pins. And at the price is currently trades for it's a great time to cash out. And if a VE is made it WILL harm the value. I think these are the reasons we're seeing a few more for sale than usual.
Guess Tron and X-Men are coming too since there are more of those for sale recently while being made on far fewer numbers...
I do hope the do another run of ac/dc as anyone that wants one should get one. To bad they will probably be 7500 now though.
Quoted from cosmokramer:The VE will be an ugly comic book version that will cause the price of originals to remain unchanged...
Anyone who thinks SMVE comic art isn't good is delusional or in denial. Bring on the Yeti AC/DC!

Over the next few years most 'red dmd' games will drop in value as they are dated, despite there being some simply awesome titles.
No acdc's were for sale when they sold under $7k because owners chose to just keep them at that price if they were on the fence. At $7500+ with a quick easy sale folks that were on the fence are letting theirs go.
I sold Acdc because I had it for a while and it was time. AS was the replacement but I don't think AS is necessarily a better game than acdc. I put AS at the IM level of pins and that is really good.

Good point- just like we've seen system 11s plummet in value along with all digital pins made before 1990.
If I had a buck for every pinsder nurturing a baseless market collapse fantasy I could afford an acdc.

You really need to use the sarcasm emoji more often. Those who don't know you might be flummoxed by the conflicting statements above.

Hey Art Ill buy it back for the same price I sold it to you for a few years ago!

These threads are so silly. I owned a LUCI for over a year and only handed it off to its next owner bc they wanted it more than I did. Even now I don't like it more or less than I did when I owned it.....had nothing to do with possible "rumors". It's a fantastic music themed pin that I'd own again if i felt the urge but 1 music themed pin is fun for my collection right now.
I just sold my Luci, but here's why- look at all the new pins coming out! AFM LE, Alien, Houdini, Dialed in, TBL possibly, etc., lots of great titles and limited space. AC/DC has been out for 4 years and it will always be a great game, but life is too short not to mix some things up once in a while and have new titles.

Man that's what I'm dealing with.
Every time I walk up to the edge and contemplate the leap of selling I back off. I happily pulled my ad last time
Life is too short that's right. Thinking I might follow through this time
I let my LotrLE go, this seems much tougher

A game's demand is formed by its gameplay reputation (and theme to some extent), not its display. Pins with HD LCDS have now been around since 2011 (WOZ). Demand for classic games has continued to rise. If anything, the DMD era games will continue to rise in value, as their design, code, engineering and QC are leagues beyond the new titles. You don't have to worry about splitting cabinets and chipping clearcoat on older titles.
My AC/DC has a color LCD.
This is just a dumb thread. The OP not only has it in his wish-list but started a WTB thread a few months ago trying to get one. So if he sees them getting dumped why hasn't he bought one? Does he really think this is going to cause a price drop frenzy?
I just listed mine, but has nothing to do with rumors. I've been debating selling it for a few months now and have deposits down on Alien LE and AFM LE, so just needed to free up funds and space. I was actually going to list it the week the rumor thread hit and held off because of it.

Im glad you're so concerned about my purchases! im looking for one that doesnt require shipping. Ill make sure to personally call you when that happens!
Taxman where in my post did you get i was trying to lower price values by this post. I made a statement about seeing alot of ac/dc's for sale ( 8 right now ) and was asking if this meant they were coming out with a remake or not?? I figured with 2 big shows in the last week, that someone would of heard some good rumors come up if their was a remake or not. I dont want to rush out and buy a overpriced ac/dc right now if their is a possibility of a new one being made in the next year!

Taxman has anger issues. Pay no attention to that social miscreant.
I do notice that there are MORE ACDCs in the marketplace now...certainly not a flood, though. I just think it's the ups and downs of the market. Hardly any Trons now, but eventually a bunch will pop up all at the same time. Just the way it works. I think people are freeing up space and funds for Star Wars or one of the other great pins shipping this year.

Thats what im doing, selling off what i dont play much and saving for a few NIB.

8's a flood? 8's dumping? Have some perspective. They probably made close to 10,000 between all models. 8 is a blip.
The plot of this thread is certainly not unprecedented around here. I definitely remember a few members cashing in on iron man when they knew about the VE ahead of everyone else.
I have seen a few AC/DCs listed for close to $8k. I think that price range is enough to knock a few loose with or without another run. Some people have had AC/DC for close to 5 years now. It is definitely not the new shiny thing anymore.
I still don't miss mine, but my wife wishes we still had it. I am very interested in playing Aerosmith.

That's my plan. Sell Luci and buy Star Wars - if I like it. Would I sell Luci for AFMR, MMR, Dialed In or Alien? No, I would not. I don't have interest in those titles where I would want to own one of them.
I am a bit disappointed ACDC didn't get a another update to balance some songs out better and perhaps make the mini playfield more lucrative. A few years ago I had hope, but now I don't think it will happen. If there were at least settings to keep songs and their qualifications from starting over would be good for lesser skilled players. And a power adjustment for the slings because they are ridiculously strong!

Everyone should also clearly sell off their SW and SWT, immediately.
These games will inevitably reach a new rock bottom in value in upcoming months.
Should this include other DMD titles as well?
Although, in consideration, it would be much better to actually research market consistency regarding used games across multiple manufacturers, past and present regarding current trends.
Alternatively, individuals might even consider purchasing the upcoming Mr. Pinball Price Guide 2017, when released around June.
This is now in its 27th year of publication for a specific reasons as a pinball reference.
This will provide interested enthusiasts crucial information.

I guess I was just annoyed from the start since the title and your opening post did not convey any useful information. As I read the other posts to find out what I was missing I realized I was not alone. It was not until post #13 that I realized this might be talking about a rumor of a VE version. I do not read every thread so I had no idea about any rumor and hate the speculation threads anyway. Once again, your thread did not let us know what you were talking about.
But as jordanfsl pointed out in post 4 - "Good thing it happens to be on the OP's wishlist. So no vested interest in seeing the price drop or anything.... "
And Nexyss - "The plot of this thread is certainly not unprecedented around here. "

849 Pinsiders own a AC/DE Prem/LE and 8 are for sale now and 3 sold since the April 1st. Percentage wise it's small and doesn't seem like much however 8 at one time does seem higher then normal. A lot of people sold Tron/IM before the re-runs just as they did MM/AFM before the remakes so I'm not surprised to see this happen now with the hint of a AC/DC VE. People have always claimed AC/DC wouldn't be a VE because of the licensing costs however I think when Stern sees how much they are selling for now on the secondary market and the profit they can make they will reconsider.

Has been out for 5 years.
IMO AcDc will be Stern's TAF or TZ, may be a lot of them but in time they will still be sought after and worth money.
I don't care if they go to a hologram display in the future people will still like to buy TAF or TZ or ACDC
Its the first game with color changing inserts, classic layout, deep rules, can be played by novice players or experts, tons of mods and one of the top 10 classic rock band (songs still used in major ads of this day - iPhone 7 Thunderstruck )
I'd bet if/when Stern makes the next batch they'll be Luci at $7700 or possibly a whole new 'black' LE version for $9000 (ish)
I have no inside info just my idea that Stern won't come in at the old selling price.

100% given that the pricing will be in that range or higher.
If they could roll it over to Spike with the LCD and sound improvements that would be JUICY!
Quoted from PW79:ACDC has terrible art & a dated obsolete DMD
That is no rumor
But, that really has no bearing on whether a game plays good or bad.
