I can show you how to make it... supper simple and sturdy... I love AC/DC and was so happy when stern released the Vault Pro. On initial release, I hated 2 things, the crappy lower playfield on the premium (window fogging not worth the bagatelle) and the big ass Angus face. Soon as they made the Vault pro, is was in and LOVE it. Can you see my hot HELLen behind Cornholio?

Very nice!! I was close to that version - buy the face and put the Helen sticker on it but did not have the money at the time, then the Vault pro came and it was done! I have the Aurich too! I will take a few photos of mine this afternoon. U gotta see the Helen mod up close
The ONLY real wish I have for the Pro is the drop targets... that’s really it - I love the Vault playfield art

Wtf?? Where do I send the money?? I bought your Tron fiber optics and they are the Bomb - how the hell did you do this??

Gorgar123 Here is the photo of the connector I used for the Cornholio mod - super simple! used a small screw for little hole to attach cornholio and the bigger hole fits perfect for the screw into the detonator... the hard part is finding Cornholio it seems... Easier to find TP for your bunghole?

Surprising that the vault still uses those socketed-bulbs. Nice for customizing though, I guess.
I'm doing some work on a premium for someone and forgot how fun this game is in home environment, but I don't care for the lower playfield, so started getting curious about pros just in case one comes up sometime.
I also wanted to get the lightning bolt flashers mod for him, but couldn't find it. Did demand for that just dry up and no one made more? Or is there demand for that still? I came up with my own approximation to try and get the same effect, and it worked out pretty well.
These games are entirely different. Both are good, but I like the Pro better because it's much faster and almost zero stop and go. The Vault Pro is the ticket as the Angus face (for me) was just too huge and ugly. Most Pro owners I know, myself included, agree that if the Pro had that traverse from the train to the cannon and the TNT drop targets, it would be top 5 all time Pin. Not a fan of the bagatelle under the play field on the Premium and LE - plus the window gets a bit foggy.
Quoted from ezatnova:why would you want to remove it? Guessing it’s there to ensure a straight hit on the switch behind it, and maybe also to prevent horizontal movement stress on the joint at the bell.
In case your answer is so it swings easier and doesn’t touch up against the guide...mine was manufacture or poorly from the factory. Nothing I could fix from adjusting anything. The holes were drilled in poor locations that tilted my whole mechanism so that the shaft from the bell scraped up against the guide badly. This caused the bell shaft to get maybe one swing and really have to hit it hard to even have it register the switch. The only adjustment fix would have been to drill new holes, but they would have intersected the existing holes and made some giant awful holes that wouldn’t be good to use at all.
So, what I ended up doing was taking the mechanism off and marking where the shaft was hitting the guide, then taking the shaft off and using a file on it to thin the metal away at that point. Lots of retesting and remarking and refiling. Eventually got it to where the shaft clears the guide now and it swings freely. Way easier to hit the bell switch now and the whole thing looks nicer with it swinging a lot more. Visually, you’d never notice that ~0.05” of metal was removed on that part of the shaft.
He said “shaft”
Quoted from maffewl:That is a 2017 Vault. It’s the best version IMO but I’m biased. The lower playfield on the Prem/LE isn’t interesting to me at all and feels gimmicky, and I’m also in the camp that hates the huge face in the playfield. Plus the Vault has the swinging bell which is a plus. As for the price, depending on condition, that could be a good deal. Pinside has it slightly above $5k so take that for what it’s worth. It’s a super fun game and you wouldn’t be disappointed.
If ur goin pro, vault is where it’s at - could not do fathead Angus
