Just traded my way into this club....WooHoo! Been wanting an AC/DC since they hit the market. I've played a ton of both and while the premium has some cool extras the lower playfield does absolutely nothing for me and therefore it just does not justify the premium price. Love the pro.....and yes it is faster. Mine came lightly modded and I've already blown some cash with four more mods on the way and several more planned right around the corner.

#52 4 years ago

Anyone know where I can get one of those premium train mods?

Mine was already installed when I got it but I am just guessing people were buying the replacement train for the premium directly from Stern?

Where are most of you hooking up the nose light? A pic would be awesome.

Quick pic from my phone (connected to the GI underneath):

Awesome, thank you. I know what the train light looks like.

Was more interested in a pic of the underworld since the train I have on my pin comes with a 4-pin connector that goes to nowhere....On the pro do you have to slice it off and wing it or what?

Im in , and my game is horny.. (thx Mezel Mods)

This game is so much fun! I'm having a blast just playing all the different songs/modes.

Installed my Pinball Refinery "Shoot to Thrill" cannon mod last night:
WP_20140814_13_28_28_Pro.jpg

Also my "BriteCaps" bumber caps from Pinball Life. These things look amazing and I'm considering putting them in all of my games.
WP_20140814_13_27_15_Pro.jpg

Added a little Gibson Guitar as well.
WP_20140814_13_28_47_Pro.jpg

Still waiting for my interactive backbox speaker lights to arrive from Pinball Refinery and then next up is a full Cointaker conversion.

I traded my way in to a pro two weeks ago. Mods so far:

Put mylar on the shooter lane.
Cointaker premium LEDs.
Installed the thunderbolts from pinbits.com.
Red apron and added some flashers under the apron tied to the cannon flasher.
Put LEDs in the cannon tied to the cannon flasher.
Red undercab lighting, looks great on this game.
Premium train, on it's way.
Helen playfield decal.
Added a spotlight behind the middle lightning bolt that shines on the bell.
Speaker LEDs and acrylics, on their way.

Some other things I did that are not as easy:

Added a flasher to the TNT detonator. Yes, it can be done a pro.
I'm adding the kicking band members that will work exactly like the premium (not easy).
Designed my own red and blue LED strips mounted on the back of the backbox tied to specific flashers.

My game is CRAZY bright. It lights up the entire gameroom when someone is playing.

#62 4 years ago

^^^^ where did you get the red apron??

#63 4 years ago

I bought a few of them when they were available 2 years ago. As far as I know, the're not available any more.

#64 4 years ago

Bought mine this past year, manufactured in Aug 2014. It came with ramp protectors already installed. Added Swinging bell, Hells Bells Bell Log, train, cannon mod, all led's, Hooked lightning bolts, backbox horns. Love the game but it is very unforgiving of missed shots!

That is awesome TimeBandit! Is an Arduino controlling the lights? There are so many things you can do with the Pro.

This is far from a complete demo. Plenty of functionality to come.

I'll be posting a video soon of the dancing band in my pro working exactly as it does in the premium. With your GI kit, we've practically created the premium.

Add the swinging bell from Stern, put a Helen decal over Angus, and I think you have a pretty fine machine.

I have the train, the helen decal, and will get bell once available.

Holy crap, I need that board!!! Gimme gimme

I recently put LEDs in my AC/DC Pro, but didn't order any LED flashers. Can someone tell me how many and the type of flashers to get for AC/DC? Any recommendations on colors to get?

Edit: ordering a heap of white #89 Flashers.

Cheers!
Adam.

I admit ACDC is a game I want to love. I like Steve Ritchie alot and the band is awesome. The couple times I have played it, I went up and hit start and had no clue what I was doing. I have since bought a ST Pro and IMVE and really enjoy each. They are exciting, fast and a real rush to play. I do not enjoy games like TSPP and LOTR because they do not have the "rush and flow" that I am looking for. I think ACDC could fit the bill nicely for me to get on the future.
So, I am looking at ACDC again. I did not get any enjoyment out of the lower playfield when I played the Premium and the upgrade seems to be about $1500+ more. I never played the Pro before though. I am going to Texas for the festival in a month I will look at it really hard. I will also look at Tron, which I did not "get" when I played it a few times either and SM, which has great shots, but really long gametimes. MET is great also, but I just do not like the music. So ACDC, the theme, kills over Tron, MET and SM for me. I will have fun looking into the ACDC and will keep an eye on the Bell mod, etc..
Thanks for you folk's updates and views.

Can someone please tell me what size post rubbers they put on the post near the wire coming out of the pop bumpers?

Cheers!
Adam.

I didn't realize the pro doesnt have drop targets.

This is old news around here but I'm in the club as well. Bought a pro and it travels on the road with me.

Its been in storage for about 8 months now so I'm looking forward to getting back out on the road and putting some time on it.

Love the speed of the pro over the LE.

Fresh candy apple powdercoat from Matt at Back Alley. Laseriffic topper. Helen decal. Mirror blades. FF speakers. Hooked lightning bolts. Premium train. Tons of goodies. Yeah, I'm hanging on to this one for a while.

That's a nice looking machine! Mine is getting color dmd, new ramps, lightning bolts, new pig2 light show at the moment, haven't been able to play it for a few months now but can't wait to get it finished.

#84 3 years ago

^^ Color DMD is next but it's 'spensive!!

#85 3 years ago

Does anyone here prefer the LED pro vs the original pro? What are the pros/cons between the two?

#86 3 years ago

Pro LED is more expensive, but has a swinging bell, factory LEDs, and a factory speaker decal. Standard Pro came with incandescent bulbs, no swinging bell, and no speaker decal.

Go with the LED version if you can, but they're both pretty much the same. I have the standard and am very happy with it (after modding the shit out of it).

#87 3 years ago

Modded out AC/DC Pro is awesome. I have played Premium and Luci's quite a bit and they are great, but much tamer than a modded out Pro that plays like a beast!

Anyone do any custom apron cards to reflect any song changes via the browser? Just trying to get everything to match up now.

Does anyone know how to hook up the dancing band in a pro?

#92 2 years ago

I did a quick and free mod on the wires for the detonator.

#93 2 years ago

Nice. I have always felt like something could be done to improve the detonator. What did you use for the wires?

#94 2 years ago

I used the wires that are on the detonator.
I cut off the connectors and coiled the wires around a screwdriver.

Red apron is in!!
I still need to add flashers and some nice instruction cards.

You guys are lucky been looking for a ACDC Pro in Canada for months.

#97 2 years ago

Does anyone know how to wire the dancing band?
It doesn't need to work like the premium, just some movement. A random jig will do
