Here is the cannon issues I am having. Motor is making a sound at all times even when the cannon is not moving. You can see when it fires the slings in ball search that the cannon shifts a little, so the jarring is enough to get it to move. All set screws are tight so I don’t think it’s just an issue of something being loose. I added a little tri-flow to the pivot points as advised by another ACDC owner but didn’t see any change in behavior.

The game had 43,000 balls played when I got it from a smoke shop. It was set to free play and the only maintenance it likely got was if a rubber broke. So any upkeep that the cannon mech may need is likely happening now for the first time. I’m open to ideas on this one for sure.

Before and after adding LEDs I think it came out great. Also been busy modding since I got it.
Shaker motor
Shooter rod
FF speakers
Cannon mod
Back box led light show mod
Swinging bell mod
And a few more to come… absolutely love the flow of this game. I know I’m like 10 years late to the party but wow this game rocks!!

Thanks ! Its a great machine, brutal sometimes, and so fast, fastest playing machine Iv'e played...Get the Lightning Bolts from Hookedonpinball, great addition also.

You really need this translite to match the playfield decal.

Wonder if they cut production short as a result? I’m not too keen on the face either honestly but it’s not that bad when you’re playing. I’m working on a replacement vinyl decal to cover the face with a printer. I’ll post how it comes out. Speaker lights and some more goodies including the led backglass light show coming tomo!

I was not around when the "face" were released. People just did not like the look? Though that is what he looked like in the late 70's. I have the pro vault which is also missing the drummer.

Not at all (speaking for myself obviously). I loved the way the Pro played, but I didn’t want to look at it. I jumped on the Pro Vault the day I saw the playfield with no face, no regrets.

If anyone is having issues with the cannon, and apologies if this has been posted but thought it might help someone. If your 3x playfield insert isn’t lit, it’s most likely being caught by the cannon motor. And if your cannon is getting bogged down toward the end of the pivot out this could help you as well. All I did was move the location of the led as you will see in the pictures. Then used zip tie to keep wires away. Now it’s free and clear to swing all the way out and won’t strip the wires out of the led again! Hope this helps someone out there. Cheers!

The leds for the playfield I got from pin bulbs.com and the back box light show is from flipper fidelity. Very cool as it integrates with the flashers on the playfield. So for example when you hit the spinner the left side of the back box flashes. Also when the cannon is lit on the playfield, the cannon will also be lit on the back glass.

Get the cheaper pin2dmd version of the color dmd. It’s a great alternative.

I have to disagree, for many reasons. I've done all 3. ColorDMD LCD, LED, and pin2dmd. By a LARGE margin, I prefer the ColorDMD LCD. That is an opinion, not a fact. However I hate the LED versions of both. I find them difficult to look at, and annoying to my eyes.

So in my games, it is almost exclusively the ColorDMD LCD in supported games. Yeah they are expensive, but so are pins.

Sure but the op wasn’t impressed with the price of colordmd. If he wants a budget alternative the pin2dmd is a fine replacement for a color display.

Personally I prefer the dots to keep it looking more authentic.

All coils on my ac/dc pro suddenly stopped working midway in a match.
I had been playing on the table for probably 20minutes when it happened.

Rebooting the power on the machine fixed it, so I'm a bit baffled what could cause this.

I'm thinking a bad fuse that stops working when it gets too hot ?
Curious if anyone has any tips on what I should look at here.

I was playing last night and noticed the flashers under the pop bumpers weren't lighting up.
I guess I'll have to look into that.

So much better. You may want to put two white lights with them so it is not so dark back there. I will post some pics of how I placed the red and blues in my machine.
