Both the AC/DC and the TNT drop targets and the trough occasionally act up on my machine. This has been going on for years and reseating the corresponding opto connectors has always temporarily solved the issues.

What's the permanent fix for this issue?

Thanks

hot glue the connectors perhaps?
no major fix, to my knowledge.

Reflow the solder on the optos and pins the connector plugs onto.

I finally just replaced my bell opto. It was ringing constantly when the ball was in the pops - driving me crazy!

My C target is always indicating that it's down when it is up with a steady on lit instead of blinking. I went into test mode and switch opto is not reading the drop target when I move it up or down . It does set off swith test if I tap the outside of the opto . Do not understand why that is. Also the whole bank keeps trying to lift up and reset at times even though they are already upr keeps lifting to the point where it blows fuse f8. I tried cleaning optos and reseating connectors with no luck . I will try loyds advice and reflow the connectors. Does that mean add more solder? I can solder but have never reflowed anything. If that doesn't work I was thinking about trying a new 2 bank opto board. Any other thoughts? Especially with the entire bank acting to try and reset? This happens mostly in multiball and blows a fuse .

I'd remove the old and flow on new.

Remove all old solder and redo? Do you use a solder sucker for that?

Did you replace the whole board or can optos be replaced individually?

That would work. If you don't have one, simply heat the joint and flow on a little new solder.

I should have tried reflowing, but the actually optical sensory had broken off at one point and was being held on by a little bit of solder. So I bought a new board from marco. Cost $27.

Replaced the board and it fixed my problem. Marco now wants over $40.00 for the two bank opto board. When did you buy yours? Thanks for the help Lloyd. I can still try and reflow board to try and get old one to work.
