I have a heavily modded huo premium... I'm guessing its market value is right around $7K as it sits... But, I enjoy the game so much that it would take a lot more to pry it away.

Quoted from rawbars:I think what keeps ACDC premium price in check is all of the great NIB pins available right now. The Luci and LE versions will go for more because of rarity. As a potential buyer I am willing to spend around $6500-6750 on a nice HUO ACDC premium with a few mods. If you look at the ones that have sold on pinside this is the range where they have sold. Any more than that and buyers start looking at NIB MET premium, TWD premium, GOT premium, GB premium, SMVE etc. At one point ACDC was considered Sterns best pin to date. Now there are other really good NIB options for around the same price.
I get this sentiment.
Tough thing: a lot of the mods are pricey. If you found one with the FF 12" woofer, shaker, pinbits bolts, and Color DMD... You're looking at $800 of mods that truly add to the game experience, right off the bat. Then, you have to consider the cost of a lot of the non-essential, but good looking, mods... Some of which aren't made any more...
That's how we have a situation where the price of ACDCs that hit the market is high and demand remains high.
Quoted from silver_spinner:the premiums are gonna be remade, spend less for new. be patient. remember my spiderman thread long ago with the same advice
So... NIB for $6700-7000...and you won't even have a shaker. Add in all the awesome mods, and you're lucky to have less than $7700 in it
Quoted from kermit24:Times seem to be changing a bit, not just with AC/DC, but the market in general. We are seeing some $6400 AMH sit and not sell. 4 months ago it would have been gone in hours. Tron LE is all of a sudden sitting just over $9k. Seems that $6500 can get you a decent AC/DC premium now on average. Pinheads are a finite group. As compelling games are released, many will be forced to make tough choices.
Sure feels like the housing bubble 8 years ago...but the number of buyers doesn't appear to have maxed out... and there truly is a finite amount of product on the market (not for games on the line...but for games of the past).
I couldn't believe how many people were at the Allentown show on friday afternoon. The place was hopping. Just goes to show, pinball is hot right now...people want games...prices continue to rise.
Quoted from bigd1979:Thats a routed pin with no upgrades and a odd color apron lol. Look how cloudy the pop area flasher insert is and the play field window. Not a bad deal if thats what u want .
Here's a decent indicator of how far the market has risen: $6.3K gets you a routed Premium with no mods. You buy it and add the most popular mods, and you'll be sitting on a routed pin with about $7K-plus invested.
Quoted from FrostyMug:Hey...you guys think Met pro is faster than ACDC pro? I have not played Met pro yet. Or do you think its about a tie?
Tell you what...I really miss my JM because of the speed. Man did the ball fly fast if you got the loopin timed right with the flipper buttons! Miss that pin...sold it 4 weeks ago thinking no big deal. Maybe Acdc pro, Met pro and JM are the fastest pins made to date!!!
Quoted from pinnyheadhead:I agree. Not perfect, but better.
Gotta go Pinbits... They are perfect
