Ok, well I FINALLY played an ACDC tonight! Granted it was only the pro, but WHAT A MACHINE!!! I actually got a major adrenaline rush while playing it! So now it’s catapulted to very close to the front of the line on machines I will soon own. Looking at the differences with the Premium/LE, I definitely want that over the pro. The SECOND I sell my ‘63 Corvette Coupe, I’m dropping the dough on ACDC!!

And a large duffel of cash? Sure!

Well, I sold the Vette. And guess what the first thing I did was?? Yup! I put down a deposit on an AC/DC Premium/LE with shaker motor, v.4 lightning bolts, etc. Picking it up on Wednesday. Now the next critical question: which topper?

It came with red. Not sure that would have been my first choice, but I’ll wait to see it in person before deciding. Picking it up the day after Christmas. Can’t wait!!!

The Laserific looks terr-ific with the Luci translite!! If I had a Luci, it’d be a no-brainer! The perfect complement to that translite! The problem with the Laserific on the original Premium is that the AC/DC text lines up on the same side at the same angle as the AC/DC text on the translite. From an artistic standpoint, it’s not balanced. I also don’t like the mostly 2D look, but I’d accept that if the topper logo were on the right, because it looks awesome overall.

I’m also not a fan of the newer silhouette one because of the 2D look. Of the other current toppers made, I like Tilttopper’s (I think, because I haven’t seen one in person and the video is down) and The Modfather’s (with some modifications). Cointaker has one Tilttopper left, but Dan at Tilttopper said he’s just finishing a new AC/DC Special Edition topper that should be released in the next two weeks. Guess I’m waiting to see what that looks like before making my decision.

Lastly, I’m not a huge fan of the Premium translite, but I need something more kid-friendly than Helen (though I’m a huge fan of Aurich’s work, as evidenced by the fact that I long ago bought his TS package and I don’t yet own a TS). So if I could find an alternate translite that worked better with the Laserific topper, that’s an option too.

Initial thoughts... What a pin! Adrenaline rush from start to finish!! Brutally punishing for bad aiming, but oh so satisfying when you get it right!!

Ok, need a new translite. I’m not feeling this one. Need family friendly though. Nonplussed by the apron. Stern could have done better for the Premium. Love the action of the 4.0 bolts. Thinking blue or black would be better... And 85Vett/cpr9999’s roof mod is a MUST, if for no other reason of lighting the band up!

Rensh got it. It’s actually styled to look like a guitar amp. Here’s a closeup pic. Dramatically improves the look of the Premium, IMO. I did take the speaker inserts off too, because it looked better with just lights and the sticker.

I hear you. I wouldn’t like it if it looked cheap. Install was easy. Prepped with denatured alcohol and followed the instructions exactly.

Here’s a video look. I think it looks better in person than in the pictures or video. The only way it would look better is if the speaker fabric were real, the knobs were real, the jacks were real, and the power light were lit. All but the fabric I may actually do, because it would be super easy.

Nice! I think mine are at the top hole, and I'm waiting until I beat the previous owner's score before I move them down a bit. I've only had it a couple months and already come REALLY close several times. But it's in the low 1B's, not over 2B. Impressive!

Hmmm.... I'm having several issues that only very recently popped up. Random extra balls (not the kind you earn), sometimes extra points added with pushing flipper buttons before a plunge (but only on the first ball), random ball ending even with a ball still in play like the ball drained when it didn't (not after a random extra ball), etc... All switch issues?

Matt does AMAZING work! I have the one from PBL that he painted (I also have his ships for my AFMrLE and STTNG), but my cannon doesn't have the orange LEDs underneath. And this is $25 less than what I paid. DAMN!
