If you mean the color of the musicnote you are wrong. In certain modes a note can be a different colour indicating that one has more value of some kind. At least, that is what I hope as I am always aiming for the different one

This different colour can also move eg, this second it is the left ramp, few seconds later it is the bell, and so on

#45 6 years ago

this is mine

Since this video I also installed other translite see

and Hooked lighting bolts see

and speaker lightning (sound controlled) with undercabinet

Sure I am forgetting something but this machine rocks

Quoted from MJW:

Pretty nice. Did you make the transparent divertor ramp?

Unfortunately not. Person on a German forum made a couple. Apparently not so easy to make. Prior to getting it I didnt think to much of it but am a modding person so bought it. Installed it worked a lot better as I imagined upfront. Quite nice

Had a visit from Steve visiting my gameroom! Dream of an experience having the designer play his product in your gameroom

I was thinking about this too and then the other day I was at Trent’s from Tilt Amusements and he sells a full playfield protecter just for AC/DC and it looked incredible. You do have to take some things off but nothing like you would to clear. It looked and felt really nice and high quality. http://www.tiltamusements.com

I just replaced my old scratched protector with a new on from Pinball Universe. Shines as hell and plays great.

Below picture is how the old protector looks after I gues 700-800 plays.

Can really advise such a protector to protect the big insert.

Quoted from Guzz4851:

Can you post a video of the LED color dmd? Only ever seen a LCD....interested to see if there is a noticeable difference.

Problem is that this video doesn’t do the led display any justice ☺️ Colors with led are more vivid as with lcd and contrast is better. LCD however gives the possibility of upscaling and some people find the brightness of led to much.

#914 2 years ago
Quoted from RTS:

I own both LED and LCD displays.
Seriously, the video cannot accurately capture the true appearance. The LCD doesn't look nearly that bright, nor does my LED look anything like that video.
The recorded image completely misrepresents color, and creates an extreme pinpoint effect that is not accurate in person.
If you had both in person, the LED is so much better. You can only know if you had both side by side in person.
Only get LCD if you like smoothing.

I agree. That’s why I mentioned the video doesn’t do the led any justice plus it’s mentioned in the video description.

Led us more vivid as lcd but lcd offers more options. Matter of taste in the end. Both are great in their own way so there isn’t a wrong choice fortunately

metallik ....oi buddy! You know anything about running Mike D video mod and color dmd on 5v?
Guzz I'm not sure where it would fit if I left dancery band in. Shake a leg Angus. SHAKE IT!

I have a smartdmd and PinballmikeD mod bit inpeper them externally. Very easy to do. Left of the coin door you will find a two wire plug, 1 black and 1 white, which will carry the main voltage if game is switched on. Just hook up here a 5V USB power supply and you are ready to go

#927 2 years ago

Its this connector. Just hook it up with a ‘wallsocket’ in which you plug regular 115/230VAc power supply as you do in every wall socket in your house and you have extra power switched off on automatic with your pinball.

Quoted from Guzz4851:

So is that plug an AC circuit? You convert that into a wall socket and from there get a 5v power supply and connect that to mods?
Anyone know if the Mike D mod runs off 5 volts?

That’s indeed an AC circuit. Biggest advantage over the connector at the right side of the coin door which is carrying 5 and 12 VDC is that you don’t put an extra burden on the pinball powersupply.

Trying to remember but I think it’s just 5VDC indeed. Checked Mikes threat at https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pmd-–-acdc-interactive-lcd-mod-coming-soon/page/9 and appears to be indeed 5V. I was always puzzled why he controls this AC supply with a relay to switch off on, guess he didn’t know of the connector at the left of the coin door.

And even if you need also 12VDC, just add another wall socket for a AC to 12VDC converter and you are set to go. Plenty of those around on eBay.

#936 2 years ago

That will work.

I think at least you are referring to a power supply like ebay.com link

This one is for 12VDC, you will also need one for 5VDC. Or a combo one.

For mikes mod I think you need something where you can hook up a USB cable so you use for that something like ebay.com link

You Just have to check how many amps mike mods needs.

Now the only thing you need yet is the lighted acdc band roof mod!

I had one but the picture I showed is an old one. Currently have the lcd from mikeD installed :

See me having fun here

#1012 2 years ago
Quoted from KingBW:

Need for someone to make a roof for behind the MikeD mod. No lights shining down needed, a lit logo would be nice. I have the swinks frame, but it just looks bare back there. Anybody do anything there?

I took a piece of black cardboard, cut it to size and fitted it behind the display. Works great, easy to do at zero costs and the back is covered. Have the swinks frame to.

I've had another problem on my Luci for quite a while now, but I'm finally getting around to fixing it. The band member coil is sticking. It works absolutely fine in test mode and has no binding when actuated by hand. But in game mode the coil stays energized a little longer than test which seems to cause it to mechanically/magnetically stick. Has anyone else had this trouble?

So I’ve read that the Bell is supposed to swing when using a VIP pass or making shots during hells bells. Mine does neither. I tested the Bell magnet in test mode and it works like it should. Is this normal? Did this get changed with the recent code update? Am I crazy?

I have read others reporting that with the new code the bell doesn’t swing anymore

Quoted from darkryder:

Same here, my Mike D DMD display stopped working after the last code update. If someone has the patched code file they can put up on Dropbox or somewhere, would really appreciate it. Missing that mod working on my Luci.

You need to enter the serial number during patching. Just purchase pinball browser for like usd 10-15 and you are set to go. It’s easy.

** Production years to avoid when buying HUO original (non-Vault) AC/DC Premium? **
I'm shopping for a HUO example of this title and wondered if there were production years that I should be wary of.
Metallica, for example, had a run with PF's whose paint would chip off. That kind of thing.

I am unaware of years to avoid. Only problem I know is that the very early ones had a more cloudy window but if I am not mistaking this was only with the LE version and they fixed this prior to the Premium run.

Have an original and that doesn’t have this spring but I don’t get many drains luckily from a bell shot.

Have seen this kind of solution befor with Avatar.

Goin test menu under coils and see if it is moving. Perhaps it’s just a loose connection as you think it never worked? It has a connector just behind the back panel.

#1462 1 year ago

Have already for a long time the MikeD Display mod but my memory says the band moves during all Multiballs.

#1493 1 year ago

Take another look at the speaker panel. You will see that there is a sticker over it so it looks like a speaker with controls on top.

Someone should grab this. Had this on my old AC/DC with the Pinball Refinery light kit under it. Was killer and this apron is priced real good for the red version.

Agree. Having the Red translucent apron is a killer On this pin. When I co-organized a pinball show we had as a guest Steve, he visited even my gameroom , and he took care of one for me
