If constant references to Hell and Angus mooning you after every game is ok then you probably won't have much of a problem with it.

I am also looking for a red translucent apron. Any leads appreciated

EDIT: Found one!

What is going on with those flippers?

#307 7 years ago
Quoted from Psw757:

Pinball Metal is in business as far as I know, talked via email the other day. I think he is out of Acdc though. Be nice is he made more!

If someone would make Gibson SG side armor (ala the Axe Kiss armor) I would be WAY in!

Quoted from KingBW:

Let me try another one. I have some red bulbs that are bad and going bad in my lower playfield. I notice that those go dim and brighter for HTH. Are those special bulbs, or can I just replace them with normal LED bulbs? If they are not "normal", where can I buy replacements?

More than likely they are just coming loose from those garbage wedge sockets. That is the worst thing about AC/DC.

Push the bulbs back in and secure them with hot glue.

Quoted from Gryszzz:

Just wondering....
With the music pin market cornered, why doesn't Stern put 4 or more speakers in the bb? To get ill-like loud.
Speakers and amps..... speakers and amps. Instead of worrying about visual, how bout the audio? I want an Audiophile LE with an extremely loud, clear and crisp sound

Still waiting for PinSound to make a version for Sam. That will be the ultimate mod.

#630 6 years ago
Quoted from Gryszzz:

Pardon my idiocracy, but what makes the Pinsound board better than Pinball Browser? I understand the sound will only be as good as its source, but if you swap everything with PB, couldn't you theoretically have 4, 6, 8+ speakers in bb?
Surely someone has made/modded a pin with insane audio.

You should really check out a machine with PinSound. With PB, you are still stuck with low bit rate, mono sound. You could put 30 speakers in the backbox but it is never going to turn the source material into the original high fidelity audio.

Quoted from jathomp22:

Has anybody added their own lights or flashers under a clear transparent apron? I was wondering what GI or flashers you would want to hook up too.

I tied into the cannon flasher as I often don't notice that the cannon is lit in the frenzy of keeping the ball in play.

Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Thanks. That helps. Now how do you get them flashing? What happens when you hit the "I" and "R"

Doesn't that light Album Multiball? Maybe multiple hits?

Scroll down to the Super Modes section.

Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Thanks!!!! That is exactly what I needed. Someone should have done that with Star Trek.
So I know once you select a different song you can't go back to a previously played song. What/any strategy to selecting the same song?

YW

Hell's Bells all day for scoring, particularly on the premium/le. While it is fun to blow up the game, that song really unbalances the game.

Quoted from MikeS:

mini wizard mode for completing 6 songs

My idea for Premium mini-Wizard Mode:
Multiball mode where completing the lower playfield shots lights the juke box for a jackpot. Shots to the Bell would be required to launch the ball on the lower playfield(and to relaunch after a lower playfield drain), thus you would have to "juggle" main and lower playfield simultaneously.

Quoted from DrMark12PA:

Just wondering for those that have the Pinbits illuminated lightning bolts if anyone has preference for the standard white vs. red. vs. blue filters and how they look in actual gameplay on the playfield (I've watched the Youtube video but hard to see how it lights up the playfield with the color variations).

Any opinions from those that have installed these?

I've tried pretty much every combination.
The straight white bolts were just way too blinding. I tried the blue bolts and filters, but they seemed to clash with the warm white LEDs on the bolts. Ultimately I felt that the red bolts and filters blended the best with the game without being blinding. Obviously, YMMV.

Quoted from 85vett:

Kind of a dumb design if you ask me but that is just personal preference.

If you are using the service outlet to work on the game you usually wan the game to be off.

It is easy enough to convert the power supply to a molex connector of you know how to crimp wires.

Can anyone tell me what this is?[quoted image]

I put 2 of those in mine. Cool effect.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

It looks like pinsound is not compatible with stern SAM games? Anything comparable available for SAM?

Have the Pinsound guys given up on SAM?

#1459 5 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

No idea. Just went to their website and SAM is not available. Not well versed in their stuff.

I ask them about SAM support every year at TPF. They haven’t seemed overly optimistic, but they also seemed like they weren’t planning on giving up on it.

Quoted from Kawydud:

I agree, bought a set of these for each of the two AC/DC games I have had.

I felt the warm white LEDs clashed with the blue bolts. I went with red and am very pleased.

Quoted from Mach5Amps:

Order placed! Can't wait to hear it. Now, to call about my machine. Still haven't heard anything about delivery timing...
I said I was going slow, but given I don't even have my pin yet:
1. Lighted speakers
2. Speaker insert thingies
3. Replacement Lightning Bolts
4. Topper
5. PinWoofer Powered Super Kit
What the heck has gotten into me?!?!?

The best mod is customizing the song list with pinball browser.

Gotta have me some Shoot to Thrill.

I also think that mirror blades are an underrated mod.

#2185 4 years ago
Quoted from Royale-W-Cheese:

I need to learn how to do this. Some songs I never select.
Is it hard??

The learning curve is a bit steep.

If you’re not a DIY fan you could just pay PinballMix to do it: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/introducing-pinball-mix-your-music-in-your-machine

#2199 4 years ago
Quoted from Mach5Amps:

Oh, and Mirror Blades are on the list (It's been suggested to save that for near last to avoid lifting the play field too many times after they're installed. Is that a smart approach?).

Of course. But if your worried you could pick up a set of these: https://www.pinballlife.com/interior-cabinet-protector-blade-set.html

Quoted from Mach5Amps:

Uh oh. 8 way splitter? Maybe I'm not putting in all my mods then, huh? I didn't think of that.
Yeah, my first one too. I think I might be overdoing it.

Might want to consider a separate power supply

Quoted from 85vett:

Working from home today, don't tell my boss, but I just tried it out as you had me second guessing my understandings.
- Started Hells Bells.
- Hit Bell via flipper
- Held ball until bell stopped swinging
- Hit Bell via flipper again
- Held ball until bell stopped swinging
- used VIP pass for next shot
- Was awarded a Bell Mode shot but no PF multiplier.
I wonder if you hit the VIP pass while the bell was still moving and it was confused??? Not sure, but it's not giving PF X awards unless I collect the swinging bell award through the horns awards.
P.S. - Turning on the game while trying to sell it is a dirty trick to keep me in the club. Getting sellers remorse and it's not even sold yet

After collecting the 4th “Stuff”award?

Quoted from Shapeshifter:

Thanks - link to your video?
Ok, maybe a misunderstanding.
When getting a SJ there is an explosion and Steve says fantastic.
When collected as an extra award in Album MB, there is nothing.
That's what I was hoping could be changed. Explosion and a fantastic!

You are referring to the “song bonus“ which can also be collected in tour MB.

And I agree. It needs more fanfare.

Hey guy! Just got a Premium Vault Edition in immaculate condition! It came with an LE topper and I can’t find installation instructions anywhere. Any suggestions?

You’ll need something like this: https://www.amazon.com/BZONE-Controller-DC5-28V-Control-Compatible/dp/B08B112LN9/ref=sr_1_3_sspa

FYI. I don’t think this link includes the power supply.
