Always!

Lots of rumors but thats all they are!
Fixing 'oi mania'.
Lyman has done a mode for completing 6 songs but hasn't decided if it will make the cut!
Seems like most people are hoping it does.
It looks like pinsound is not compatible with stern SAM games? Anything comparable available for SAM?
Quoted from chuckwurt:It looks like pinsound is not compatible with stern SAM games? Anything comparable available for SAM?
Have the Pinsound guys given up on SAM?
Quoted from alveolus:Have the Pinsound guys given up on SAM?
No idea. Just went to their website and SAM is not available. Not well versed in their stuff.
Quoted from thunderking50:when does the band members start moving , specific song ?
On my premium, the band moves during Tour Multiball, but not Album or Jam multiballs.
Added over 5 years ago:Correction: My band dances during all the multiballs. Not sure why I thought otherwise.
Quoted from SuS:On my premium, the band moves during Tour Multiball, but not Album or Jam multiballs.
What version? I'm on 1.65 and they move during Jam and Album - I rarely get tour mb.
OFFICIALLY in the club!! Original Premium w/4.0 bolts and shaker motor! FANTASTIC!!!!
Initial thoughts... What a pin! Adrenaline rush from start to finish!! Brutally punishing for bad aiming, but oh so satisfying when you get it right!!
Ok, need a new translite. I’m not feeling this one. Need family friendly though. Nonplussed by the apron. Stern could have done better for the Premium. Love the action of the 4.0 bolts. Thinking blue or black would be better... And 85Vett/cpr9999’s roof mod is a MUST, if for no other reason of lighting the band up!

I ask them about SAM support every year at TPF. They haven’t seemed overly optimistic, but they also seemed like they weren’t planning on giving up on it.

Yeah i would love to be able to get stereo sound out of this game at some point and put a proper sound system in it.

I'm on 1.70 and my band does in fact dance during all the multiballs.
Have already for a long time the MikeD Display mod but my memory says the band moves during all Multiballs.

Whataminute..
Are you in the passenger seat?!!
We need a stream...video.. something..to verify!
Congrats! Great game
Hit a $51M song jackpot today! What a wail the machine leg out! What a rush! Too bad, I was so focused on the 4 balls I didn’t see what came up on the DMD!
Okay I need some advice. I went through the process of leveling the pf top to bottom shortly after I got it to try to get past the SDTM from the pop bumpers. What this required was raising the front/rear right side feet about a quarter inch higher than the left which seems like way too much. It is very noticeable by the cabinet that you can actually tell that it is like that.
After playing with it for some time like this I still get way too many SDTM from the bumpers (I even have a rubber on that left post), and additionally I get quite a few cannon shots that land above the targets so they don't go down. Additionally many times after a shot if it does get to the flippers before the cannon is back in it's starting place the ball will hit the cannon.
All of this leads me to believe that having it 'level' is really making the PF twist causing these other issues.
Am I off here, or is this normal expected behavior. I've made adjustments here and there to try to compensate, but nothing seems to work. Is it just how this game is?
I know left to right is pretty darn level because the ball will actually hit a post and stay there...but it feels like level is the wrong setting for this game.
I know people say this game is hard...I don't think hard is the right word. There are so many instances where I don't even get an opportunity to touch the ball when it drains.
I finally covered up the ugly bell block, I've seen a few versions of block covers but since I have my own 3D printer I just had to make my own. I'm still learning 3D software so this was great practice. First version fit perfectly right off the printer.

Fits nicely, just looks like it needs a brown paint wash or something to add a woodgrain look.

AC/DC drops, and just Stern drops in general, are notorious for being able to take a hard direct shot and just stand there stiff as a board, and not drop, so I don't think your shots are going above the target, I just think you're seeing Stern drop targets being Stern drop targets. I had this issue with my AC/DC Luci VE, and after a few months of tweaking, I got them to drop 99% of the time (this includes the TNT bank which had the same problem).
First off, I don't think the angled face of the drop targets help them drop at all. I think this prevents airballs pretty well, but if you had a high speed camera, what I think you'd see is a hard fast direct shot hitting the drop square, then the angled face of the target riding the ball upward as the ball moves forward after impact. The drop target can't drop because the angled face is being lifted by the ball. In cases where the ball rebounds away quickly, I think the angled face of the drop target allows the ricocheting ball to simply drop the target back onto the edge it was sitting on. This is why light hits and edge hits seem to drop the targets more effectively than a head on hit. To counter this behavior, I placed .060" shim strips under the rear mounts of the drop target assemblies, which effectively tilted the drop targets back, making the relationship of the angled faces to the playfield much shallower. This helped a lot, but not enough.
I then took all the drop target springs and I unhooked one end of the spring, then reattached the spring to the spring hook about 1/5 to 1/4 of the way down the spring, effectively making the spring stronger. This spring adjustment and the shims got me to almost perfect drop behavior.
Your mileage may vary with these mods, but I just wanted to let you know what worked for me. Note that I didn't come up with all of this. I believe I found these ideas buried in this AC/DC thread, and tried them out with success.
I wish you good luck and a happy new year. AC/DC is brutal. BTW, I get quite a bit of SDTM drains from the bell lane with perfect leveling. I can't help you there.

Mine gets SDTM from the bell very infrequently. More than fair imo. It’s level side to side and like 7.0 degree pitch.
Also TNT mode is my new favorite. Crazy good in music and callouts, and if you survive the dangerous shots, it’s crazy lucrative.

My outlines are standard and they're the drain monsters. LOTS of nudging w/this game. Shots are a little different than most Sterns I think due to flipper angles.

Agreed. The ramps are so late on the flippers and the right orbit is very tough for me to make consistently.

I recently dropped the angle of the flippers on my ACDC Luci just a slight amount. They felt ridiculously high after playing lots of IMDN and BM66. No droop, but in line with the inlanes. I never had a problem making any shots before or now. The right orbit is fun to backhand.

Agreed, great mode! I wait to start TNT until I can bring Album multiball into it, and I like to have some VIP passes to use for the detonator target when all the drops are down. Love it!!!!

That right orbit is the one shot I can make consistently. It’s no coincidence that it’s now my favorite shot in the game.
Funny how it’s just different for each person.

Ugghhh... I envy you! I can make the right orbit fine, UNTIL I need it for a song change, hahaha.. then it kills me!

Oh man. I really LOVED my Maiden when I had it, but playing it too much made me WORSE as a player. It's really really forgiving and there are some easy ways to avoid draining. Not sure of BM66 but if it plays similar to TDK, yes it's very forgiving.
AC/DC was a wakeup call for me and I'm glad I did it.

ACDC is an outlane drain monster compared to Iron Maiden or BM66. Throw in a few super cheap drains from cannon shots that follow the same annoying drain pattern from left target -> right target -> left outlane. I found the outlanes so frustrating on ACDC that I moved the posts to the lowest setting and at least it's a little better now.

I don't really get what is being shown. Just looks darker (and I'm assuming the camera is the culprit here). You might want to explain what exactly you are showing.

Taken at a different time of day. Same camera. Look at the speaker panel.

So taking the speaker light acrylics out was a dramatic improvement? Haha
Take another look at the speaker panel. You will see that there is a sticker over it so it looks like a speaker with controls on top.

Oh yeah. That’s it.

Rensh got it. It’s actually styled to look like a guitar amp. Here’s a closeup pic. Dramatically improves the look of the Premium, IMO. I did take the speaker inserts off too, because it looked better with just lights and the sticker.

I hear you. I wouldn’t like it if it looked cheap. Install was easy. Prepped with denatured alcohol and followed the instructions exactly.
Here’s a video look. I think it looks better in person than in the pictures or video. The only way it would look better is if the speaker fabric were real, the knobs were real, the jacks were real, and the power light were lit. All but the fabric I may actually do, because it would be super easy.
Actually..that's not a bad idea. It might cost a bit, but making a whole new piece that looks like an amp wouldn't be that hard.
Got my polk sub hooked up. It’s totally sweet. Favorite song so far is thunderstruck.
But man it makes me hope that pinsound figures out SAM though. It Would make this thing a rocker through and through.
The LED's behind the lightning bolts on the left ramp keep flying out on me, and one broke in half.
Is this a common thing? I found the part numbers in the manual but thought to order my replacements from Comet based on advice in other threads. Is there a way to know exactly what bulb to order? The Stern part number didn't return results at Comet and none of the flashers look exactly the same.
