Looking great.

i got you on my list.

I am having a problem with my cannon. When the ball goes in the cannon it won't swing out to shoot the ball it just goes into search mode and randomly fires. I have checked the switch on the side of the cannon and it is working. The other odd thing is the cannon flasher light stays lit rather than flashing. Any ideas what to test next.

Quoted from shacklersrevenge:

I play for Encore, and I've been there. The hardest song to get by is ''For those about to Rock'' because you're at the mercy of feeding the cannon and hoping for the best on the return.
Below is my best score, which included Encore. I am still on old code, I will update tonight. I just cashed out a Jackpot during 2x tonight at 174 million, ended up with just shy of 700 million.

Thats a serious score. I suck. My highest is like 190,000,000

Is the ball bouncing off the switch when it enters the cannon perhaps?

Quoted from smassa:

There are lists out there that show the song bonus order for both Tour & Album Multiball. Playing to build up a huge Song Jackpot is fun and really gets the blood pumping when it gets really high but I feel many people also forget how lucrative the Super Jackpots can get for each multiball. The Jam & Album supers aren't that difficult to get to & if you use your multiplies wisely while playing the multi balls you can collect some crazy high supers. I know on my GC score I collect a couple Supers of over 150mil cause I had 3x running at the time.
Encore is also one of the best Wizard modes ever made but it is very difficult to get to on factory settings. But if you get dialed into the ramp shots you can use Jam MB to work your way through quite a few songs. I'd give it more time and try n lear the songs a little more. Also take a look at how good the scoring can be on Hell aint a bad place to be. One of the best songs to start the game with since both song bonuses are very early in tour & album multiball.

Interesting to read how high the supers can get in MB.

Any strategies for getting them? Default setting seems pretty tough to me.

#1158 7 months ago

I’m interested in updating code and not losing my Mide D mod. Anyone can help please pm me. I know you have to do a patch but I’m clueless about pinball browser etc. if someone can help me or send me a file for what I need let me know. Thanks.

Yeah, do tell more. My supers are always in the low 20 million range. Supers are supposed to be the sum of the jackpots collected so are you saying they are effected by PF multipliers as part of that initial calculation? I.E. You collect all your base jackpots at 2x PF so your super base is now 44(ish) million?

#1160 7 months ago

I find it really difficult to get supers on this game.

20 jackpots for the super on jam?

They all add together for the super?

And then 3x that to collect I guess.

Does the cannon work in test mode? I had to tighten up the cannon underneath it

#1162 7 months ago

Cannon works fine in the test mode.

I got through half of Encore, cashing out an 84 and 134 million jackpot in that mode alone during it.
This was an explosive round of play tonight.

This game beats the crap out of me, but I keep coming back. Super-impressive score!

Super-impressive indeed. I just got a Luci VE and I've been loving it, but man... it's been kicking my butt. I think the most songs I've made it through are only 4 or 5. Encore seems impossible to get to at the moment, but I'll keep on pushing the start button.

Agree.

Encore seems so far away with nothing until the final destination.

Really hope Lyman gets time to do what he had planned - some things to break along the way, after 3, 6, and 9 songs.

I would like to be put on a list for one of these as well if I'm not already.

Wonder when Oi Mania will be fixed?

Haven't updated new code as was waiting for this fix.

#1170 6 months ago

Hey fellow AC/DC Premium owners, I'm trying to drum up some customers to go in with me on another run of CPR9999's AC/DC Roof Mod. I think we need a minimum of 10 people to make another run worth his while. Is there anyone who'd like to fill that triangular gap behind their stage with this mod like I would? https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/acdc-lighted-roof-mod

Same here, my Mike D DMD display stopped working after the last code update. If someone has the patched code file they can put up on Dropbox or somewhere, would really appreciate it. Missing that mod working on my Luci.

You need to enter the serial number during patching. Just purchase pinball browser for like usd 10-15 and you are set to go. It’s easy.

I have a AC/DC translite that I had printed. I am NOT selling this for a profit.
I am just looking to get my printing cost - shipping out of it. $40 via paypal.

(Quality - nice translite -but not the same printing level as commercial quality. It was printed at one of the popular printing places that does backlit printing. However, these places can not achieve the commercial print quality level. With that said, I am actually printing another one for me - but changing some things on the print - adding a few cool things to the new one I am printing).

Note, it still looks COOL on the pinball machine.

I have several pictures below - first one was held up to the back sliding door window. Also, I took a picture next to the Stern one so you can see differences.

I ONLY have 1 - first one to PM me gets it.

Fellow pinsiders,

I am looking for a few more people to join in on a run of the led Roof Band Mod.

Please list your name here and view a bunch of reviews and pictures (lots of happy owners).

Guys, finally finished everything today (with a box of tissues, damn cold).

20 kits ready to go, so expect pms starting tonight.
i'm still taking names in case someone backs out.
After a few days, if no answer, i'll move to the next one in line and on the second/waiting list.

installation;
i made a bent on the bracket (the side with the shrink tubing), the screw/plastic behind the detonator is at an angle * (see picture), you will understand went you get it. since every game are built by hands, maybe my angle is too much or not enough. the bracket is made of aluminium so it won't be that hard to move/bent to the right angle with a pair of pliers or vise
on this version;
one side with shrink tubing to protect your plastic.
bigger and longer wires.
bigger and stronger bracket.

Don't miss this batch, i might never make another one (it is time consuming).

thanks everyone, bob.

Thanks.

Hey guys... Hoping to drum up some interest from someone selling their machine - I'm looking to buy an AC/DC LE (LTBR or BIBLE). Not interested in the new ones. Looking for a minty old (HUO) model.... Who has one they want to sell (or trade)?

Thanks !

Can I ask the group a question.
I'm looking to get an AC/DC premium next month after a move. The prices for nice premiums and the new Luci versions are roughly the same, give or take. I'm inclined to get a new Luci, but is there any compelling reason to look out for nice original premiums instead, if prices are relatively equivalent? I know the cabinet art is different, but is there anything different with the pf or mechanics between the two, best anyone knows?
Thanks in advance!

The newer spike operating system is not as user friendly as the older sam , not able to just change out bulbs for a buck ,you have to buy a new RGB board for 30ish. Lots of utube stuff on the newer system to help you choose if its right for you...Cheers

I bought a new Luci VE. I liked the ability to take out the lower playfield window from above in order to clean and work on the lower playfield (instead of lifting the playfield and dropping the lower playfield from underneath). However, with the removable playfield window comes the work of having to level it every time you remove it, and even when you take delivery of it from Stern. I don't know if the removable lower playfield window would be viewed as a plus for everyone, but it was for me.

By the way, as to the post above mine: The Luci VE and other AC/DC VEs run on the old board system that they were originally manufactured with, not the Spike system.

Just to be clear, the original run of AC/DC premiums as well as the recent vaults run on the same SAM system, not Spike.

There are some minor differences. Different autolauncher, different playfield windows, different cab speaker, etc. I'd rather have an original just because I think games were more solidly built 5-6 years ago. Better cabinet and playfield wood, more solid feel. Newer playfields seem to dimple and chip a lot more. My ACDC playfield still looks like glass even after 6 years. I also prefer the non removable playfield window since it doesn't require any maintenance or leveling. The new windows area bit clearer looking though. I've also played a couple of the LUCI VE's and they do seem to play a bit different for some reason? I've had friends comment on this as well but I'm not sure what the reason is?

Thank you for all of your replies, I appreciate the info and advice. It's a badass game no matter how ya slice it, but I was curious about any differences and opinions on the matter as I've only played a Luci version. So thank you all again...can't wait to get this upcoming house move over with and bring one of these games home. Btw, those TNT bombs at the top of this page look amazing...anyone install one of these yet and have pics??

Biggest reason to get a nice original is better wood on the cabinet and playfields and generally better construction. Stern has gotten REALLY cheap since the original AC/DC came out. As long as you get an original with a clear playfield window, that's the superior option.
