He'll yeah they did. They need something positive to be said about this machine. Jury is still way out on that thing.
Quoted from gambit3113:Jury is still way out on that thing.
Really ?Who is the jury ? I think it looks cool.
These will sell good .

You think the whitewood with wires and shit all over it looks cool enough to say that it is a vast improvement over the Pro?
Quoted from McCune:Really ?Who is the jury ? I think it looks cool.
Well, since you bought one you are officially now part of the jury! If you grew up with the theme then sometimes price doesn't matter...right...
I hope you love it and I'm sure the LE with be a whole lot better...but the PRO looks like a wrap around turd....
They might need to have Ritchie do daily tours to pump this thing!
Quoted from gambit3113:You think the whitewood with wires and shit all over it looks cool enough to say that it is a vast improvement over the Pro?
Yes ! Any other questions ..
Quoted from iceman44:If you grew up with the theme then sometimes price doesn't matter...right...
Pretty much sums it up..
Jim
I'll say this. I like AC/DC music but was not interested in purchasing this game. After seeing pics of the pro, I still was not interested in buying this pin especially with that head. After seeing the LE whitewood, all the toys, cannon and that mini-playfield with etched siderails - I'm pausing.
Have to play this one first BUT if this was Avengers/XMen, for me, I would be ALL in with the playfield layout and toys. I'm encouraged the ball play looks to flow and will be SR fun. And the mini playfield if it was the danger room - all over that. Just sayin. Theme may hold me back but for AC/DC fans with mula - right to be pumped.
Quoted from McCune:Yes ! Any other questions ..

I was AC/DC Back in Black then.........now, I'd be on Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville sight unseen, no matter price, so I can see the thrill for fans
I can't imagine a machine that would make me want to eat a bullet more than a Jimmy Buffett pin. Maybe the Carpenters?
Haha...come on Gambit, the Carpenters, are effing kidding me, maybe you Donny and Marie float your boat...but Jimmy, I see a lot of Margaritavilles and Parrotheads all over the country...not so much on AC/DC!
Ah, AC/DC is a top 5 seller all-time. There may be a lot of Parrotheads, but nowhere near as many as there are AC/DC fans.
ABBA, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey have all sold more than AC/DC! How about one of those pins...yikes, sorry but JB is still rocking and raking in over 100 million every year and now have Margaritaville casinos in Vegas and Jersey....AC/DC is done...only the memories are left And of course a pin....
But those AC/DC memories kick ass. I could just see a heavily tattooed, full patched Scorpion heading over to the Margaritaville pinball machine in the corner of the bar, using the guy who is playing it's head as a battering ram to destroy the cabinet, and lighting the pile on fire - after Cheeseburger in Paradise plays for the 81st time that night.
Had a conversation with a league buddy yesterday (who is also a very good player) and I was telling him I was somewhat initially disappointed with the ACDC pics. He was telling me how he bought a backglass from Steve while Steve was still in CA and they got to chatting for quite some time.
Steve showed him CADs of Spiderman, and showed him on a particular shot, the ball would hit three playfield targets and then return to the flipper. Essentially pointing out that Steve thinks about all the shots, their outcomes and how they affect game play.
So, though I was not wowed initially, I have to say, whatever Steve puts out piques my curiosity, and I've upgraded my initial disappointment to anticipation for this this game. Certainly, I want to play whatever the Steve/Lyman combo can put out.

Quoted from McCune:The only thing that has let me down is the price. I will not spend 7K plus shipping for a new pinball machine made today.
I hope to pick up a used one in the near future for much less.
I think Woz guys are on crack for spending close to that much for a lame theme .

Not bashing you Jim but just needed to point out your flip-flop. If you think the WOZ owners are on crack, does that put you with them now? Congrats by the way.

Now that's a funny visual A Bruce Springsteen fan might do it but....not an Angus fan, and I'm thinking Pat Benatar would kick some Angus ass.....

I changed my mind. I am still disappointed that I am shelling out a ton of money for a pinball machine. I will get over it ..
AC/DC to ME, is way better theme than WOZ . I was just baffled by all the AC/DC hatters that are on the WOZ band wagon.
I should probably just shut the hell up . I am not good at politics . Thanks for the call out .
Jim

No need, thats what this place is for. Everyone has their own taste. If everybody liked the same thing and the pins were the same I would not play in this hobby.
Found some pretty cool pictures from Brian @ HSA

Have to agree with you on that one.
Quoted from McCune:I just dug out one of my NOS concert T-shirts from the 1996 Ball Breaker tour .
Nice find Jim and you even had the etiquette to post the pics because we all know it did not happen without em.
Yeah, the big face in the PF sux. Yeah, the ramps are cheap. But all the... "layout is like _____" complaints? Really? I mean.. How many ways can you slice a tomato? Once you put the flippers, slings and return lanes in standard position, there's, what? Like 8 shots pretty much no matter what. Cummon guys. Designers are way fortunate if they're able to introduce even ONE truly unique item in a design. Let's see how the rules and the flow are. My .02.

AC/DC theme blows WOZ out of the water hands down.

So was Rolling Stones....do you want to buy it
I think this pin will play great, Im just not 100% pumped on the art, at the moment - but if it plays awesome and has great rules & sound I wont see the art.
Quoted from iceman44:Mariah Carey have all sold more than AC/DC!
But the playfield could only show a big right side of her face...

I felt the same way when I heard that there was a Gilligan's Island machine... Until I played it.
The LE sounds promising. Almost completely different in fact! Why they didn't release it first, is wayyy beyond me... Backlash later is always better than sooner IMO.
I was just baffled by all the AC/DC hatters that are on the WOZ band wagon.
That is because I am a MAIDEN fan Honda!!!
Just like Lindsay!

I'm not so sure that they will sell well. Too much money, and lots of negative feedback about "the face", even though the LE will look better, I think its just too much money.
To quote someone here that shall remain anonymous: ""The only thing that has let me down is the price. I will not spend 7K plus shipping for a new pinball machine made today. I hope to pick up a used one in the near future for much less."
And even though you changed your mind and bought one, I think that there are a lot of people who hold the same sentiment that you had stated previously. Including me.
Quoted from vid1900:But the playfield could only show a big right side of her face...
Haha...well if it showed any part of her, yikes and the Carpenters sold over 100 million records, just saying
Personally I think the LE looks very interesting. I'd be more concerned about them resolving some of their QC issues, I.e., decals. If they are going to charge such a premium for a game they need to deliver a better built product. I have a friend with a TFLE that has done everything to protect his cab but the decals are already wrinkling. Doesn't affect gameplay obviously but will certainly hurt resale price and at these premium prices that could be a substantial loss.
Look forward to LE gameplay videos.
I think I will cut my decals off at the legs to prevent further damage . The part I cut will be under the leg anyways .
Trust me I am very concerned with quality .
Jim
Quoted from TaylorVA:Jim- did you see my playfield removal video?
Hell yes I did, that is a very slick way of removing a PF !
Jim
Quoted from TaylorVA:The decals on TF were already cut. I think the adhesion is an issue which does not bode well for the future of these decals.
@Jim- did you see my playfield removal video?
I was thinking of cutting my ACDC too... I thought I read that although TF was cut, it wasn't cut far enough away from the legs - so they could still push the decal around. Is that not the case?

FACT
after thinking about this machine for a few days i've finally come to a conclusion. i think this would be a really really fun machine to play on location. hell even at home. sure the pf may have some ugly photo shopping, but just imagine this;
you have some beers with some friends, 3-4 players going strong..and wait..you just got MB? and another track just came on from AC/DC? with the volume cranked up, and rockin out. i really think this will be a super entertaining machine. thats' my opinion. can't wait to rock out and bang some multi balls around to some classic AC/DC
