So then if you have only album multiball going and three balls in play, you can't get 4 in play by adding a ball right ?
Quoted from smassa:You can only get 4 in play if you have Jam or Tour stacked with another MB.

Sixstring was not restricting the discussion to the special case of tour or jam mb
Quoted from smassa:In Album you can add the 4th ball. Not in Jam or Tour if playing them solo.

and dont forget that you can add a ball by hitting the proper targets to get all four in play.

Great points Ruger; it probably does award it. I noticed on the Premium and LE (on any non-Pro) that you can get double mileage out of your VIP pass during Hells Bells:
During multiball w/ Hells Bells playing, I have added a ball and extended the playfield multiplier with the same VIP pass (since the bell shot was the note I needed to add a ball and it is also the shot that extends the multiplier or changes it from 2x to 3x)
Quoted from Ruger:Yeah it is tough to get more, and they really do come in handy with MBs. Even though I haven't seen this happen yet, I do believe that if on Tour MB and the Bell and ramp notes for your song are already completed, that using the VIP pass could earn you the song jackpot collection on Tour if the next tour is for your selected song.
That's what is so great about this machine. So many options, and all very complicated to remember timing, when best to use, etc.
Just got my premium a few weeks ago and had a jam session all Friday night and all day Saturday with a couple friends and we learned a great deal.
