As much as I liked ACDC, I wasn't enamored with the original art. When I saw Luci, I knew what I wanted. Different strokes for different folks.

Quoted from jar155:It feels WAY better to have the old style backbox. The game shoots the same, but nudges and feel are different due to the weight difference. It's very, very noticeable on other VEs as well, especially Spider-Man.
There's plus and minus with the new metal heads. The t-molding is nicer for example. But, fitting a colordmd LCD is a bit more cumbersome with the standoffs and sets the display back a bit. The lock on the older heads is better, but the newer metal heads have angled displays for less glare. Display panel decals look better on the newer heads than the older ones.

Quoted from Deez:Look at the art - it's not that she's half dressed - she's face down ass up ready to shake it for a fk.
Or she's looking for a lost contact lens? I think you're reading too much into the cabinet art. After all, it's landscape layout and she has to fit on there somehow. I always thought of it as a playful pose and nothing more.

Quoted from MikeS:I don't really know if that's the case. Most of my friends and collectors I've talked to prefer the regular Premium over the LUCI. I think most of LUCI's popularity is driven by the fact that it's seen as being more "rare" and seemingly more valuable. 95%+ of all ACDC games are currently the standard version. If it were the other way around and 95% of all ACDC games were LUCI's I think the regular Premium would be the more "In demand" version.
I really like the red and black art on Luci. The girl is ok... I bought what I liked best and that was Luci.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:I don't get Stern sometimes.
There have been rumors of a final code update for years.
Surely even a small code update now would sell more VE's?
Cannon inserts...
Back in black royally sucks for risk vs reward
Hells Bells is far too lucrative
No score tally from mini playfield
Ball save times out on lower playfield
Multiball start cannon shot needs to be worth a lot more
Mini playfield RGB LED are not utilized during gameplay
Horn inserts could do more than be just 50,000 points.
Could use an option to disable the song restart
Option to keep notes qualified between balls (easy setting)
Super lanes (inlanes) maybe should not go out after use? Otherwise you never want to use the inlane because the outlane is far better
Other super modes could be a bit more super...
Option so songs cannot be replayed
Bonus Points for bell saucer when not in HB
Just my 2 cents of what I would like to see addressed.

Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Hi guys. In case you hadn't heard this "small batch" sold out real fast, but Stern has decided to make some more. I don't know if it's another "small batch" or what, but I just placed my order.
The code update will help push sales, which is great! Did you ever own ACDC before?
Rob
Quoted from DaveH:F' it. I'm in. I've been very happy with my Pro VE. But while playing a friends Premium the lights swayed me to switch it up. So I'll sell the Pro VE and upgrade to Luci VE.
Did the code update help sway your decision?
Rob
Quoted from NightTrain:I was told Luci was going on the line today or tomorrow. Shipping starts next week.
I can't wait to see unboxing pictures! To be honest, I was very close in deciding to sell my Luci. It's not a great time to sell in winter so that's been a delaying factor. With the updated BIB and LTBR, those are two of the biggest improvements in the game I could have ever asked for. I am really glad Lyman has found the time to do these updates and it will sure help make a few extra sales. If ACDC really goes over the top now with a few extra tweaks, I cannot imagine selling it now.
Rob
Quoted from flipnout1:First one unboxed - LUCI Vault at Louisville Arcade Expo!
It looks great, but the display bezel red doesn't seem to match the cabinet red - it almost looks a bit orange in comparison. Maybe it's just the picture and type of decal material?
Rob
Quoted from Reality_Studio:Hey guys I put a Colordmd in my Luci, followed instructions from a Youtube video and I used the kit Colordmd told me to use for the newer metal box Sterns. It works fine but when you look from the side you can see into the head because of the gap between the Colordmd and the front glass, see the attached pic. Is that normal when installing a Colordmd into a newer Stern with a metal backbox? It's not a big deal because you don't see that when you are playing, but want to be sure I installed it correctly.
That's normal. You can block light from the sides with a few pieces of black tape closing that gap on the sides of the display. It's not elegant, but it works. When the light is blocked you won't see any gap.

Quoted from SPAMP:I'm most concerned with the crack in the bottom of the lower playfield. Looks like it could be an issue after several years of play
A bit of white glue and it should be fine. The 1/4 inch socket screws might have been over tightened.
Rob
Quoted from SPAMP:Crack in underside of mini playfield (not the ball side the underside that holds the ball eject and flippers) ; Dent and rub wear on seaper panel cover, chip in coin door... i posted pictures.
Stern probably will not replace your mini playfield directly because it's too expensive of an item. You need to go through your distributor for that. I had to go through my distributor for a bad CPU on my SWLE.
Rob
Quoted from SPAMP:So it rubbed too? Guess they never bothered to fix the flaw
No, it never rubbed. Someone said the rubber piece was hitting the ramp and mine has a few mm of clearance there.
Rob
Quoted from BlueIrocGuy:Has anyone seen and compared the Pinbits version with what Hooked on Pinball has for a lightning bolt flasher? They look pretty similar but I don’t think the hooked version has flashers on the back? Looks like a lot more leds on the front side though.
The Hooked ones were terrible. The individual LED's routinely failed due to vibration. Plus, the original design shorted the flasher circuit to the switch circuit because of a washer used on the rivet holding it all together (I think this flaw is fixed now). I bought a set and never used them because I could never get them working 100%. There was always a segment going out on them and I just gave up.
The pinbits ones look nice, but a bit pricey.
Rob
Quoted from Rum-Z:I have this issue with the AC/DC and TNT targets, not just with cannon shots, sometimes direct strong ball hits too. I was hoping they'd "break in" eventually, but if they can be tweaked for easier drops, that would be cool.
There is no perfect solution, but you can try shortening the drop springs by about 3mm.
