Anyone know if Colordmd will work in this? I assume so since it's just a re-issue, but double checking in case they change connectors or bolt patterns on VE's.

#202 6 years ago
Quoted from 27dnast:

The Premium VE did haven't the bigger/better woofer. Was smaller

I’m surprised no one is making an enclosed woofer cab like Total Annhilation. Smaller woofer can create bigger bass apparently if enclosed well.

If it's using the newer cabinet with the angled speaker panel, it will work fine, but you'll have to buy the standoff kit to mount it.

#204 6 years ago

I'd go HUO.

I still don't trust Stern.

I just put a colorDMD into the Pro Vault last night. It has the new metal backbox, and it fits perfect. Make sure you get the standoff and shield for it.

The shield in the game is red, so you need the clear one. The standoffs are because of the way the backbox is, you need them.

What’s “street pricing” on Luci?

#208 6 years ago
Quoted from PW79:

What’s “street pricing” on Luci?

Street pricing on premium VE is about 6800 nib, I’d figure Lucy would be several hundred more.

Luci is the same price as the premium VE

Quoted from Deez:

God what an ugly pin. Who wants a pink alien devil whore on their machine? Helen is such a better looking package. No wonder they didn't sell many of these. They're hideous.

I've played the Helen version but can't remember the differences from luci. Was it only a different translight or was it a package of items?
Also who made it ?

#211 6 years ago

The Helen package was made by a pinsider. It’s just a translite and decal to cover the ugly Angus face on the pro. No cab art. There is also a coin door sticker and maybe apron stickers too, can’t remember.....I bought a Helen kit long ago knowing at some point I would end up with an AC/DC. Missed the original run of Luci but sorting out some stuff to grab one now. Would prefer an original run but not at $8-9K.

Aurich is the pinsider who made the Helen art but he is not running them at the moment. Says he has a few more ideas he has been sitting on for AC/DC and may share them in the future. His mods are tasteful so hope he shares it soon.

I don't know what all the fuss is about the smaller sub. All the subs in games sound like ass. I hook all my machines up to a powered external sub. It's the first thing I "mod" to nay game. Night and day difference. Stern can leave the sub out of mine and knock $25 off the machine!

#213 6 years ago

I like the acdc game and I also like the art package. If I were in the market, This would be a great choice for my money right now. There are so many choices. Attack from Mars bumps this for me. But I would buy both if I had the means. Why the hell not.

#214 6 years ago

External powered sub 100%

#215 6 years ago

Also I was listening to acdc a lot in the last year or so. I have revisited many classics. They are a great band. It makes me wonder about the future of rock as these guys get older.

#216 6 years ago
Quoted from Reality_Studio:

I don't get it, why is she a whore? Some peoples hate for women who dare not be covered from head to toe just blows my mind, unreal.

Look at the art - it's not that she's half dressed - she's face down ass up ready to shake it for a fk. I have no issue with loose women, I just don't find this particular one attractive being that she looks like a pink ginger alien. Maybe you dudes that love tentacle porn dig it but it ain't my thing.

#217 6 years ago

Yes, that's what you want to order at the same time you buy the LCD.

#218 6 years ago

Sold my LTBR to replace it with Luci vault. So much nicer. Absolutely zero regrets.

Have you ever considered that your attitude could be the problem, not the character's representation or other people liking it? If there's misogyny here, I'd say it's in statements like yours.

I have a Luci. IMO she's crudely drawn and coloured, and for that reason I don't like her. 'Sexualisation' - I couldn't give a hoot one way or the other. It's just bad art.

I do really like the main graphic design of both decals and translite though - the monotone red and black, with yellow highlighting. IMO it'd look considerably better without her.

Aurich's Helen translite character is WAY better drawn and coloured.

I chose the Luci because of the hideous clip art on the other versions of the machine.

Or she's looking for a lost contact lens? I think you're reading too much into the cabinet art. After all, it's landscape layout and she has to fit on there somehow. I always thought of it as a playful pose and nothing more.

Interestingly, Freddy's have this at a pre-order price of €7777 ($9545).

The Premium VE is €7975 ($9788).

GB / GotG Premium are €8300 ($10,187).

SW / BM'66 / Aerosmith Premium are €9k ($11046).

I assume Stern (via them and others) are angling to see how much interest they can drum up. Hence the more aggressive price, and pre-orders.

Certainly makes the SW / BM'66 / AS Premiums look like absolutely horrible value in comparison.

#222 6 years ago

In the states I am pretty sure Prem & Luci prices are the same.

#223 6 years ago
Quoted from Concretehardt:

In the states I am pretty sure Prem & Luci prices are the same.

I think the post pre-order price will be here too. But they don't usually do pre-order incentives, and there's talk of Stern trying to get the most out of the Premium VE market before they lose the license again.

If Stern use SAM yes. Color DMD will fit, just make sure you buy the metal back box option. If Stern use their Spike system, email color DMD. The guys there are extremely responsive.

Quoted from RVApinballer:

Can anyone confirm what speaker panel will be used? That previous vault one might not match the Luci art very well...

Quoted from mnpinball:

Confirmed with Stern, the new Luci will be the new cabinet with metalhead and slanted speaker panel.

I was just looking at that. I would say, as of now, the original Luci is my favorite looking AC/DC...but, I do like the new speaker panel style better than the original black wood panels (usually). My first thought was that the new panel would probably have the same decal on it as the previous AC/DC Vault Edition, but looking at it now and how closely the decal matches the cabinet and translite on the original vault edition.....it wouldn't match the Luci art package at all.

So as it stands....if I prefer the Luci Vault over the original Luci pretty much comes down to the speaker panel decal. I really hope they don't screw the pooch on it like they did with the Spider-Man Vault speaker decal. Like put a Luci head where each speaker area is, but cut a round hole out of the face for the speaker holes. A nice, cabinet / translite matching DESIGN is what they need to go for.

I would imagine the sticker will match the art on LUCI.

What's wrong with the Spider-Man VE speaker sticker?

#235 6 years ago
Quoted from Trekkie1978:

What's wrong with the Spider-Man VE speaker sticker?

Instead of having a design on the panel, they have Spider-Man logos with holes cut in the center of them where the speakers are. Just the webbing would have looked much better.

Of the 11 games they have done speaker panel decals on....I think the Spider-Man Vault is easily the worst and really the only one that I see any issues in. All of the others are at worst plain (Mustang, Star Trek, WWE). Some look really good (Iron Man Vault, Ghostbusters, KISS) and the others fall somewhere in between, but the SM:V is the only one I would say was a real misstep.

UPDATE EDIT: You have a SM:V...what am I posting a picture for? I just think it looks bad having a picture / logo there with a hole cut in it. It's like the design was made and then they remembered they had to put holes there for the speakers. "Oh man...we have to put speaker holes there. Well I guess we will just cut some holes in it". None of the others have anything like that. On many of the designs they have integrated the speaker holes in the decal designs.

The funny things is, didn't Stern say back when ACDC VE was announced that they had no plans to do Luci? Change of heart or intentional subterfuge?

Hope you all enjoy your new Luci's when they come!

I hope for LUCI, that they use the art design from the machine on the sticker. If they use the Premium VE art, it will not go at all.

Did Metallica get art when it switched over to the new panel?

I agree with you 100% on Iron Man VE, KISS and Ghostbusters...they all look really nice.

Guy from Colorado, he sells them on ebay. I have a different one in my AC/DC Pro and they are nice.
