Noticed this on the #ac-dc at my local cinema to the left of the TNT drops:

Is that a flipper return spring? The other end is held in place by a screw into the playfield under the TNT plastic. Seems to centre the ball for added STDM goodness...

I have one of those on my AC/DC vault I got last week.

Yeah...it's supposed to divert the ball away from the center drain, but lots of people claim that it does the opposite. It is stock, however.

I wonder if it depends on the angle of the table. It was set up low and slow, dirty, a few inserts were sitting proud, the fire button didn't work, etc so perhaps it was something else making it feel like everything went SDTM.

Here's a pic of mine.
It rarely drains coming out of the pop bumpers.

Its supposed to stick out like that? Mine is either turned in under the plastic or the sticking out part is broken off. I just have a round spring on the post. I thought it was supposed to just make the ball bounce a little not stick out like that. I'll probable get rid of mine I think its doing nothing.

The end of yours has a little loop?

I'm not sure if mine is adjusted correctly, but it keeps the ball from draining, so I haven't messed with it.

It's a wire loop that screws in with the post meant to divert the ball. I've seen them on Data East games too.

Your premium as the left lane the ball travels in after the bell strike

#13 3 months ago

Ooooh. So on a pro it's just the one lane and it come right back down. Learn something new every day!

Scratches the pf over time I snipped mine off and didn't give it another thought.

Mine the part that was meant to stick out was hooked behind a TNT target. I removed it last night and replaced it with a rubber post. I've never had excessive drains from there. I tried it with the spring out but the ball would actually hang up on it.
