Well said JR, what is amazing is the success they are having with a machine that as you said, really has nothing to set it apart from every other machine in the last 20 years. A solid layout, well developed rule set and fantastic appearance, allows casual players to make progress and keeps the advanced players continually challenged, it is just a pleasure to play.
I have a cloudy window. I bought the machine used, when I bought it I Novus 2 polished the underneath of the window by hand, which did have a black film on it, that made a slight difference on the clarity.
I also Treasure Cove polished the top(PF side) of the window(cut 2 and 1, I may go back again and start with 3, then 2 and 1) and it made a very noticeable difference. It is no where near as cloudy as it was, but it is not as clear as the current production models. I am sure the clarity on the cloudy windows varies from machine to machine, but it really is not a big deal after polishing it. If I do not point out that it is a cloudy window, most pinheads even do not notice it.
I would be interested to know if other people have had any success with polishing the haze away
