I am thing about putting a color dmd in my ac/dc machine. What is better LCD or LED? Also can you change them back to factory? Any help would be appreciated.

Good choice! I have the LCD because I like the DotsXL and Sigma settings. You are always able to switch back to a DMD if you want.

LCD looks great in scan mode on acdc

    DOTS XL is awesome.

Both of my machines have LCD set to Dots XL.

So what's difference between LCD Dots XL and LED?

http://www.colordmd.com/led.html LED is fixed dots just like the original DMD but in color. Only on the LCD can you change the "look" of the display. DotsXL, scan, 8-bit, etc.

If the person purchasing an LCD or LED DMD already prefers dots is it best to just buy the LED version?

I run LCD in hi res. So amazing on this machine. The animations in the code have to be seen in full color!

This is kind of hard to digest. I know I have led in potc, Star Wars and can’t remember what I put in my Indy.

Regardless though, am I understanding the lcd is better in the ac/dc?

I prefer the LCD display in any game that accepts it. LED just seems too bright and harsh for my tastes.

It really brings a lot out of the game. Especially when you get album multi and the covers start on the display in full colour. I’ve stuck with the lcd version unless it is a game that won’t fit, like Cirqus Voltaire.

Ok - just take make sure this will work, I have the led pro with metal backbox and new speaker panel design. Lcd will still work?

Yes... It will work just make sure when you order you get the clear shield and standoffs option.

Anyone have any short video clips of the LED version?

I like the LCD panels in the newer Sterns. I had the LED panels in my older Williams games.

I have an LCD in my AC/DC, I bought it before LED. I have tried the other settings but always end up back at dots. I would buy LED and save a few bucks.

re-digging up an ol post here .....

i have an ACDC atm with a color DMD. Nota fan of the game and want to sell it for an iron man. If i were to remove the color DMD from the AC/DC, would it working in my Iron-man - or are these color DMD's only compatible with the AC/DC?

Yep, totally compatible. Just move it over and burn the Iron Man ROM code on the DMD. You might need a kit if you have a vault with a metal speaker grill.
