I would like to add ten or so accent lights to my IMDN playfield. I planed to wire each light to its nearest GI socket, the way I typically do. Still, with all this talk about the fragility of node boards on SPIKE, I worry that the extra draw on the GI circuit could imperil a node board. Am I overthinking it? Do I need an accessory power supply from Pinball Life to do this properly/safely?

https://www.pinballlife.com/accessory-power-supply-for-stern-spike-spike-2-system-machines-cabinet-mounting.html

When I brought this up with Greg at Comet, he said he'd put some accent lights on his DP by wiring them to their nearest GI sockets and all was good. Ditto, Lermods.

But when I ran it by Chas at Stern, I got this response:

"Power that is used by the GI system on Spike games is carefully monitored. Adding lamps will cause an over current error. This board is not made by Stern so it is not test or approved by us."

So, at this point I'm a bit lost. If Stern doesn't make an accessory power supply board like Pinball Life's, how are SPIKE owners supposed to power additional lamps on their games?
