Answer these questions...First off, do you have a schematic? (If not, track one down or ask the guys here for a PDF)
1) Has it ever worked correctly in this area since you have owned the machine? (Meaning, did the ball ever automatically launch to the shooter lane without your help)
2) Do you hear the machine make a repeating/cycling noise when the ball lands in the outhole like it is trying to do something? (My guess is "YES" or I don't think the game would advance the ball in play relay)
3) When you manually launch the ball to the shooter lane, does the machine stop making that noise? (Does the ball in play advance too)
