Cooked71, doesnt GoT go against your theory?

I read what Stern/Jared wrote and it just sounds like a lot of excuses. There is a thing called time management and prioritization and maybe Stern should of skipped a new game cycle (Wrestlemania) and used their resources to play catch-up on all the outstanding code issues. They made time to relocate to a new facility, they could of hired some programmers on a contract basis and worked with some owners that could volunteer to help with testing. For instance, have a programmer work on Avengers, test it inhouse and release it to some folks in public for testing under NDA or whatever.
Come on Stern, get some programmers and finish-up the code! Releasing updates says a lot more than this post did.
GoT had more polished code at release because it was under development over a year (408.5 days) longer than other back 2 back tables by the same designer. The dates are from press releases:
726 Day Difference
Star Trek - 9/12/2013
GoT - 9/8/2015
396 Day Difference -> GoT = 83.3% more time
Mustang - 12/5/2013
WWE - 1/5/2015
239 Day Difference -> GoT = 203.7% more time
TWD - 9/9/2014
Kiss - 5/6/2015
317.5 avg day difference
726 - 317.5 = 408.5 days (additional time GoT had compared to other pin releases)
Lyman owns TWD and is willing to work on code at his house "off the clock". IMO Stern should compensate him for this and also deliver other games to his house and prioritize his "off the clock" work. Bring an Avengers one month, pick it up and bring something else etc.. His love for programming and doing a great job should be spread out among other games that need it.
Quoted from smokedog:How do you know they don't? Serious question.
The quote below is from the initial post by Jared. Lyman is either compensated or not and the quote below makes it sound like he does it "out of pure passion" and not for compensation.
"Some of our team members even work on these updates at their own homes out of pure passion for the pinball industry."
Quoted from smokedog:Okay, so, pure speculation at this point. Maybe he brings in the new code (that he worked on in his spare time), Gary gets a big smile and says 'Atta Boy!' and tacks on another $2k to his yearly salary. We have no idea.
Regardless, Lyman owns TWD, programs at his house and from the updates it looks as though TWD is getting preferential treatment. I think it would be fair if Lyman put 100% into games he programs and not 130% while other games at Stern just sit at 70-95%.
Quoted from markmon:Super ridiculous. If the developer owns the game and decides to put his spare time into working on it because he thinks it's fun, that's awesome and does not indicate what shoulde should happen to other games at all.
So, Stern should just say that games programmed by developers working Mon-Fri 8-5pm will not satisfy the needs of home owners and should be purchased for location play. Games programmed by Lyman on his personal time should be purchased by home owners.
Is this what we're saying?
Stern is planning a Christmas Code Release "Party" per Jody on Dead_Flip stream today. Kiss was specifically mentioned..
