Quoted from o-din:

It sucks that pinball machines have to have licensed themes to sell these days. That's one of the reasons I've lost interest. Crappy licenses and crappy themes.

You're too negative.

Quoted from Arcade:

If Kiss had code like Metallica or AC/DC it would probably be in my house already. Tons of potential in that game.

Comparing MET to KISS is like comparing a spiderweb to a single piece of thread that goes only from one point to another. KISS is very one dimensional in the design of its rules. 3/4 of the current game features are awarded randomly from from the backstage pass. For the skilled player this doesn't present much challenge - unless you put a cliffy on the scoop and then shooting the scoop becomes the challenge I can't wait to see the next update and where the code is going. They have to really get past the .01 increment stage!

Quoted from markmon:

Kiss is still being worked on.

It should have been worked on harder...

Quoted from monkeyboypaul:

i had read the same, but, 1yr has passed since the last update... the momentum has gone.

Even Steve Ritchie seems to have moved on from ST since the last update.

Quoted from Captain_Kirk:

Steve Ritchie doesn't write the code.

I know that... He was pretty vocal about ST code getting fixed and after the update it got, he hasn't said anything about it since. That's what I meant.

Quoted from Captain_Kirk:

Because it isn't fundamentally broken like it was.

I'd consider it 'less broken' now, but there's still some glaring bugs in the game. Things like (useless) crew member callouts that rarely work, if at all for example. Nero 2 (and another mission or two) inserts blink faster (to the point of a flicker) based upon an internal timer that the mission doesn't use. The last update also broke the end mission callout for Nero 2 which does not play any more. Then there's the stuff that's never been fixed from day one, like animations completely missing any sound effects. Oh and don't forget the dismal black hole awards that haven't been improved from day one either.

Quoted from markmon:

It's not closely related. Sure the folks interested may be the same. But the development and sales of a game mod has no impact on the timeliness of a code release. Code doesn't write itself. And the folk working on the code are not involved in the mods.

I think you're stating what everybody already knows

Quoted from Trekkie1978:

I'm still holding out hope that we see lots of code updates at expo. Been way too long since the last update on any machine.

I agree. It's been a dismal year except for the MET update which was a nice surprise. The KISS update was way overdue.... GB updates non existent so far. ST polish still MIA....

Barbecue sauce < pinball code.

Quoted from rubberducks:

That's seriously Stern's head of PR and marketing?

People need to be careful in this day and age. Some lose their jobs over the shit they say or do online.
