    Quoted from Russell:

Yes, it is very difficult to host any sort of event. As you know, I run my own event. I was clearly not just being critical of INDISC, quite the opposite. I was simply pointing out that the Pinburgh format is amazing, and wondering aloud if there was anywhere else that could pull it off.

Cactus Jack's in Oklahoma runs a similar format tournament (on a much smaller scale) every spring, or did before Corona anyway. Same format with 2 less rounds, and 64 people instead of 1000.

Replay FX was incredible. I have gone 4 years in a row with my family and last year it was cancelled. Was hoping to get back there next year hoping that we were on the right track to a recovery. I know this sounds crazy, but you need a guy like Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates to hopefully step in and save a piece of Americana. I am sure there are other rich people out there, but it would sure be a nice feather in someones hat to pull this off. The way malls and warehouses are closing there has to be a way to save this to by some time until it gets going again. I hope some how some way someone steps in and saves this to keep it going.

The people that run this event at the David Lawerence convention center are top notch. This was some of the best parts on my vacation road trips which we included as a stop for a few days and continued.

Yes there are more things to be thankful for. It is just heartbreaking to see another great show/place get taken down by this pandemic.

Thanks for all the memories over the years and thanks to a great city of Pittsburgh.

Such sad news. I never got to attend and compete at Pinburg, but it was on my bucket list. My brother and several friends have gone multiple times and loved it. I wish now I could have figured out a way to have gone. To bad there isn't someway to save it.

Such a bummer. I was trying to go to Pinburgh next year. I feel bad for the east coasters who had their best tournament out there to go to.

I hope out here in CA that INDISC (the Open) doesn't shut down the same way. It's growing larger every year. They have a different model than PAPA did for their organization, so my guess is that INDISC will now be the largest tourney in the US, and hopefully remain in operation.

    Think good thoughts!!

maybe someone will buy the PAPA collection and try to start their own tourney. that would be rad.

Just wanted to thank all those who made pinnburgh possible again. It was simply awesome.

That won't happen. The collection is being sold off as we speak. In fact several friends and I have bought around 25 pinballs. Not to say someone can't start a similar tourney. It just won't be with the big portion of the ReplayFX foundation games.

So the list for sale is stale. Prices seemed ok.

    Quoted from jj44114:

Yeah the prices looked fair and we know they were well maintained. They'll sell out fast. They'll probably be down to a couple of Hooks and a Starship Troopers in no time!

    #109 3 years ago

I can’t find a list of there items for sale and I never received a reply email. Anyone know where the list is? I’m not the most internet savvy.

    #110 3 years ago

What is happening to the championship banners?

Contact email at top of page.

List is updated about once per day. Doug is doing the best he can with hundreds of emails and he is at least a day behind. Have to be patient if you want a game!

FYI, list was at about 330 titles and now is at about 177 games left and list is probably a day behind.

I'm saddened by the announcement but am also glad a lot of games are going to others that love pinball, and also bring their games to shows and tournaments many times a year. It's what we all do in some small way. I actually hate when I can't share games with others for whatever reasons... too far, too many to move, schedule doesn't match up with event, COVID, ect. Really hope next year brings people together for at least some events.

Dumb question, but is there access to pics of the pins for sale?

    There is not.

Also, what about the Pin Stadium signage, all hundred of them?

    Quoted from YeOldPinPlayer:

One would hope that maybe they will be offered to those Champions. Or maybe this is something they hold onto in the off chance that Pinburgh and PAPA rise from the ashes.

So does this mean Bowen Kerins will no longer be making pinball video tutorials????? I hope that's not the case.

Bowen has been making them at various locations for a while now. https://www.patreon.com/pinball
Much of the work was done at PAPA HQ but there are other options. bkerins

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair."
C Dickens, Tale of two cities.
What takes year to build can be gone in an instant, and if/when/ever rebuilt, there never the same.

INDISC will be skipping 2021, and Arcade Expo in March is all but also dead for 2021 at this point. Our California hopes are riding on Golden State Pinball in May, and Cal extreme in July. The later seems doable, GSPF in May is 50/50.
TPF draws a line in the sand Jan 5. Also 50/50 at this point.
Pinball will survive, Tournaments will survive. Just will take time to come back to life like it was in 2019.

We have a few locals that I think can do an incredible job at Helicon Brewing, Kickback, Pinball PA Etc. Hopefully I can convince them to keep it going. Those tutorials were awesome and I hope someone will pick up the torch.

Pinburgh was great! But I have an even softer spot in my heart for the PAPA days at Carnegie. Thanks so much for all the memories to Kevin, Mark, Doug, Elizabeth, Fred, Pete, Priyanka, Brian, Jon, Cryss, Evan, Bowen, and all the rest. Here are a few pics from 2009 and newer...

    hey folks,
got a message from the showclix that they were refunding the entries but the actual money hasn't arrived yet? Has anyone in the US had the money back? Anyone outside the US had the money back?

It's probably already been refunded. I've heard of folks getting the refund dated Dec 29.
