You only get tired of a machine because you have learned it. It has no more secrets, is has nothing but wood chopping left to offer. The designer of JJPoTC said there are 10 raised to the 23rd power (there’s a video) different ways or so that the game can serve up play, and so the likelyhood of any two games being the same is nearly and practically zero. This may be all well and good, but if that is true, how does one compete against each other in a tournament? Has anyone asked what the tournament mode does to game play or how the machine compensates when more than one player is playing at a time? And is this something that would throw a monkey wrench (no pun intended) into things when players have to play this title in competition? I don’t have a JJPoTC so I have no clue.

To be on topic, MB, so that is why we bought an MBrLE.

But I will drop on TAF, AFM, Centaur, Subway, Fireball, Firepower, EBD, EBC, BK, BK2K, Pinbot, BOP, and FH without even looking to see if there is anything broke. TZ used to do that, but not as much anymore, I’ve just played THAT much TZ. Oh and of all things High Roller Casino and Rollergames get me to drop too.

What a list, but every one of those machines has a special place in my heart. Because they each bring back a very special memory everytime I play them, because each title represents a period in my life, or each was the center of my pinball world at a specific time period, or was the machine title we were actually playing at a specific moment in my life.

The actual list in order of importance:

The big 5 - these are all associated with the love of my life, my pinball loving wife, Jelane. Love you honey.
    Pinbot
    Bride of Pinbot
    TAF
    AFM
    MB

    And then all the others...

@stones I’ll drop on AC/DC too... in a lineup of Sterns and Stern rock bands, there is no other choice to play (at least first ) unless it might be a Flight 2k.

@henhel, MM is one that falls in peoples play it column because it has filled a niche in the pinhead-turned-Pythonite’s desire to play the Holy Grail of pinball titles (literally) and that is a Monty Python and the Holy Grail themed pinball machine.

It didnt hurt it was designed by the same guy who did AFM, another comic send up of old sci fi thrillers, something Pythonites seem to have in common with old sci fi/horror buffs.

And it is a fun machine but not so much for highly skilled players, which I am not, I’m better than the casual player but just an average player amongst pinheads, or so say my league scores. I think the biggest vien it tapped into was the Python factor and us fanboys... that and Pythonites tend to be very opinionated and passionate about it so they always review MM higher than non-Pythonites.

Well, there is the “love it so much, I bought one” factor at play, but what about the “Would pay any price to play it?” factor as well... was/is there a thread for that question on here somewhere? Or how about “I hate this pin when I’m sober but can play it all night when I’m drunk or stoned” factor or the opposite, love it sober, hate it stoned? You could slice this question a thousand ways to sunday...

Some tough love on IMDN... although if I stick to Run to the hills or Number of the Beast, I’ll play it all night.

Max bonus, max multipliers... yes that sweet countup meltdown... one of the most satisfying sounds (other than the knocker) in pinball untill the machines started talking back to us (“Super Jaaaaaaackpoooooot!”). And to precede the knocker with the meltdown and have the bonus count stop just as the knocker knocks... no better feeling in pinball except when all that happens as the machine turns over... that was the ultimate pinball moment... your first turnover.

And also the exact same moment for our worst sole crushing pinball moment as well... you just drained your last extra ball on ball three and the max bonus count starts... you look up at your score and you feel hope, you look at the bonus count, you watch it count up and it ends at 999990- Game Over lights up, your stomach sinks, and you just stare at the backglass and the hard reality. “Oh well”, you say and reach for the credit button...
