I’ve owned tons of pin, maybe 60 or so and I’ve played just about everything else out there. I get tired of every single one at some point but the one I have not tired of yet is JJP PoTC, not even close to getting tired of it. I learn something new every time I play it. Usually I can develop a strategy of play, it’s a little harder for this one, a lot harder due to it being a different game every time. I can get over the new pin I’ve aquired in a few days but not this one.

Anybody have any titles they have not gotten tired of even if it’s not yours?

Jjpotc is a legit gem. Game is addicting

WH20. Owned it for awhile and still not bored.

I really like that pin too

You only get tired of a machine because you have learned it. It has no more secrets, is has nothing but wood chopping left to offer. The designer of JJPoTC said there are 10 raised to the 23rd power (there’s a video) different ways or so that the game can serve up play, and so the likelyhood of any two games being the same is nearly and practically zero. This may be all well and good, but if that is true, how does one compete against each other in a tournament? Has anyone asked what the tournament mode does to game play or how the machine compensates when more than one player is playing at a time? And is this something that would throw a monkey wrench (no pun intended) into things when players have to play this title in competition? I don’t have a JJPoTC so I have no clue.

We judge that by the test of time at our place. (over 3 years in our collection). The only games that have stood our test of time.

    TWDLE
    ACDC Luci
    TAF

Every other game has gone, or come back (remakes, MMr and AFMr).

I cannot comment on JJP POTC as we do not have it. I am confident it would not last longer that 2 years at our place.

    #7 5 years ago

Bsd. I kno I’m getting repetitive in my support of bsd, but it’s because I really like it. Just how it is.

    #8 5 years ago

AFMr. There’s an original and an AFMrSE on location near me but I still had to get one for the house.

    These pinball abbreviations are funny.

It’s no different, besides, I’ve never had two of the same games on any pin anyway. In the end it comes down who had the most points. Some of that is knowing the rules the other is keeping the ball alive. The modes on JJpotc don’t really change, the timing of when they can occur and combinations do. Each mode has a possibility of 21 chapters of which only 5 are chosen (this is how the biggest factor to come up with the 3.25 sextillion combinations)

    B66LE!!! Nonstop

    #13 5 years ago

To be on topic, MB, so that is why we bought an MBrLE.

But I will drop on TAF, AFM, Centaur, Subway, Fireball, Firepower, EBD, EBC, BK, BK2K, Pinbot, BOP, and FH without even looking to see if there is anything broke. TZ used to do that, but not as much anymore, I’ve just played THAT much TZ. Oh and of all things High Roller Casino and Rollergames get me to drop too.

What a list, but every one of those machines has a special place in my heart. Because they each bring back a very special memory everytime I play them, because each title represents a period in my life, or each was the center of my pinball world at a specific time period, or was the machine title we were actually playing at a specific moment in my life.

The actual list in order of importance:

The big 5 - these are all associated with the love of my life, my pinball loving wife, Jelane. Love you honey.
    Pinbot
    Bride of Pinbot
    TAF
    AFM
    MB

    And then all the others...

Dirty Harry and ACDC just never get old to me.....

    #15 5 years ago

no one has mentioned MM and it is rated #1 week after week after week---I have never played one so I would guess that is must be a great pin just not a keeper.

    #16 5 years ago

@stones I’ll drop on AC/DC too... in a lineup of Sterns and Stern rock bands, there is no other choice to play (at least first ) unless it might be a Flight 2k.

    #17 5 years ago

Hobbit is way up there I play it the most. However there are others I own that I can't think of replacing.

    #18 5 years ago

    IMDN is pretty darn good.

    #19 5 years ago

TWD, can’t stop playing it. Shots feel amazing, code’s not bad either.

    #20 5 years ago

@henhel, MM is one that falls in peoples play it column because it has filled a niche in the pinhead-turned-Pythonite’s desire to play the Holy Grail of pinball titles (literally) and that is a Monty Python and the Holy Grail themed pinball machine.

It didnt hurt it was designed by the same guy who did AFM, another comic send up of old sci fi thrillers, something Pythonites seem to have in common with old sci fi/horror buffs.

And it is a fun machine but not so much for highly skilled players, which I am not, I’m better than the casual player but just an average player amongst pinheads, or so say my league scores. I think the biggest vien it tapped into was the Python factor and us fanboys... that and Pythonites tend to be very opinionated and passionate about it so they always review MM higher than non-Pythonites.

Rating charts don’t seem to mean much to me, I find a lot of pins I really enjoy aren’t top of the charts. There are tons of great pins and a lot of VS topics, I think it’s all in the same question. What is the best pin, most staying power, best tournament pin, ect.

Walking dead was a dud until the last code update, it’s a super great pin now. Amazing what code does for a pin!

    Paragon

    #24 5 years ago

Since Expo all I play is Target Alpha. I STILL haven't knocked down all 15 drops on one ball, 2 left, even when I rolled it. And that's what keeps me coming back for more. I wonder if/when I get all 15, if that will be the end. Doubt it. But maybe I'll fix Breakshot then.

    #25 5 years ago

Taxi for me. Love the theme, the music, the layout and shots. It always seems to be a challenge no matter how much I play it but always fun. I think a lot of the great system 11 games hold up super well over time.

    #26 5 years ago

Also, I believe yer fibbin Budly. I know your love for Maverick is unequaled and unparalleled.

    #27 5 years ago

For me right now. ACNC and DI

Bahaha, sound like the perfect pin for you with all the drop targets in Maverick!

I have been absolutely hooked on iron maiden, out of almost 40 machines this is the only one I keep coming back to over and over. If you are just getting into the pinball hobby I wouldn't recommend Iron maiden as a first pinball machine haha the bar has been set!

Hey Bud. I just went to McDonald's. Got a McRib with an extra side of downvotes. I EAT EM FOR DINNER BABY AND DADS STILL HANGRY

Harlem Globetrotters on tour old school Bally with sweet inline drops.

I’m diggin’ X-men LE right now. Can’t get enough of it.

    #35 5 years ago

    LOL
Chuck has never let me dowm. Not even once.

    #36 5 years ago

Personally, I feel MB, IJ and TAFG will never leave. Classics which my family all enjoy.
However, really loving Maiden Premium and Deadpool LE at the moment.
DI LE is another awesome pin.
So many great titles...tough to choose just one.

I like the classics. EBD, Flash Gordon, Joker Poker, Frontier, just don't get old to me.

Cosigned. I have a couple dozen machines which have mostly sat dormant & unloved for the last 6 or 7 months, since Maiden arrived. She’s the one for me.

    #42 5 years ago

Well, there is the “love it so much, I bought one” factor at play, but what about the “Would pay any price to play it?” factor as well... was/is there a thread for that question on here somewhere? Or how about “I hate this pin when I’m sober but can play it all night when I’m drunk or stoned” factor or the opposite, love it sober, hate it stoned? You could slice this question a thousand ways to sunday...

Some tough love on IMDN... although if I stick to Run to the hills or Number of the Beast, I’ll play it all night.

    #43 5 years ago

Iron man! It has my favorite shot in pinball: shoot to collect Do or Die hurry up and after the award it holds the ball and starts Jericho! Fun to work towards.

STLE has a similar shot where you destroy the vengeance after the multiball ends in the grace period, then it starts Klingon Multiball from the same shot.

    #44 5 years ago

The Shadow...I play it in my dreams.....Damn annoying how good I can play while Im sleeping!

    High praise coming from you.

    WNBJM or Gilligan's Island

    IMDN Premium for me.

It’s been out for play for over a year if you go to expos and play it. I’ve had mine a month maybe?? I have enough time on it to know what I’m saying about it. When I have the time to play it as long as I want I usually have to stop because my back hurts playing it after a few hours. I walk away thinking I’d like to play a few more rounds. I never have that desire with any other title at this point of time on it. This game is awesome!
