The only fish i want to chase if i come to the States. I have a mate in Florida too.
If i went to Alaska or Canada it would be Halibut.

You should visit northern Norway for good halibut too.

I found out why there's so many wasps at the feeders the hard way with multiple stings on my ankle cutting the grass behind the fence. Thought I got shot and instant burning. Of course I was wearing shorts.

    I know, right?
    Who does that?
I should say, who Has the Opportunity to do that.

Its no big thing, really. I take the train for five minutes, and then I walk 2-3 kilometers. Helps me beeing socially distant and its enjoyable as hell with a good podcast. And when I bring my dog to work sometimes, its even better.

How is that walk in a blizzard?

I guess I would have to put on a Davy Crockett and carry little otto.

    Quoted from gonzo73:

First pic is looking east, those are the hills behind Rainbow, where the witch fire broke out. It burned east jumped the 15, and burned about a mile into fallbrook along Reche Rd.
Second pic in south east where the last serious fire started at the junction of the 15 and 76. It burned west, skirting the south of Fallbrook, and into bonsall causing terrible destruction.

Sorry, but what is it that you are growing in the small patch in the middle of the first pic? Im just curious.

While perch and walleye are excellent... fresh caught //by yourself// halibut or king salmon in the salt can't be beat.

Lets not forget skrei or cod from the northern sea.

    #1046 3 years ago
    Quoted from RWH:

Cod best tasting saltwater fish IMHO.

Hmm, I do agree but.. Halibut, wild trout, wild salmon..

I do passionately hate farmed fish though. Destroying the fjords, spreading the salmon bug and other fish related hazards.

    Quoted from RWH:

Fishing on the Little Miami River in Loveland Ohio. Grew up on this river so it holds a lot of memories for me and especially this day. Blow the picture up that you can see my rods in and you will see about a 1/ mile up just left of center are some kids swinging on a rope and swimming. Damn I can't tell you how many times my brothers and I did that made me reminisce they were some of the best moments of my life. Yeah a good day.

    [quoted image]
My wife and i spent an enjoyable couple of weekends together building this canoe which i then spent years pushing down some rivers that looked very much like the one in your photos.
    [quoted image]

If you don't know already you wouldn't believe. Same reason it's so brilliant to crossing an ocean bar and going to sea in small boats. You get to see and touch things others only see through a screen with David Attenborough explaining it to them. I'll never forget the sight of my homebody wife leaning over the tunnel of my little catamaran touching dolphins as the cavorted under the boat at speed and leaped up 3' in front of us.
Seen manta rays, sea snakes, huge sunfish, caught marlin and sharks etc. There's not a better day spent than a good day on the water.

    Quoted from aFineMoose:

Haven’t been to Dayton, but I’ve seen my share of aviation museums. The Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario is great because they’ll take you for rides. I went up in a Tiger Moth while my aunt went in a Harvard (same plane as a Texan).
I don’t know about the Beech, but the Beaver was made just after WW2. That being said, the engine, a Pratt & Whitney R-985 is WW2 tech. 9 cylinders, 450hp. Nothing crazy, but it gets the job done. I always wear earplugs underneath noise cancelling headphones to give an idea how loud it is.
Haven’t flown anything with a turbine yet. Hoping to fly a Turbo Otter next season on the west coast. Frankly, anything on floats near Vancouver is good enough for me. I’d rather be with the family than here flying in Ontario, but I gotta build up time. Covid threw a wrench in things and it’s my first time flying in years.
Worst of all, though, no pinball machines here. I saw one guy in town is a Pinsider, but I don’t want to be the kid on the block that only asks you to hang out for your toys.

Bring a 24pack, some steaks and your winning smile.

Wife makes a mean apple pie. Scoop of vanilla ice cream and a slice of old cheddar cheese. Now we're talking.

Cheddar cheese with apple pie? Hm. Well, why not?

Fucking waterleak through the wall at our location. Only carpet tiles affected though! And all the people showing up for monthly tournament in 20 mins get to enjoy the sweet smell of damp basement.

    Quoted from punkin:

I looked them up, British punk is one of my things, so it could be a goer. Will have a listen on the spotify later, going to see a man about a dog now.
I know your tastes too, and was expecting some screaming metal music.

I do love black metal but I enjoy lots of different music. Everything from count Grisnach to Waylon Jennings.
