That's a Bison, right? About 1/2 mile from my house is what is known as the Buffalo farm, but I'm pretty
    sure they're Bison..
Here's a pic from the back deck of the 1940s Pull-a-Way Merry-go-Round that I recently refurbished.
Only have the bench seats left to do. I don't remember seeing any of these on the old playgrounds around here..
Poured the pad she'll be going on this past Thursday..

Exactly what happened on Friday. Wet snow on the leaves proved to be too much.
It was a nice blooming pear tree.

Mowing the lawn earlier today and heard an explosion.
Went up on top and saw smoke coming from my neighbor's.
Fireman came and put it out. Minimum damage to the house.
    Melted vinyl.
Oh yes. Not at start up. She already had driven her other car to work..

    Quoted from jawjaw:

Car was just sitting there and then erupted in flames?

Yes. Strange enough, that's what happened.
The Town Highway Department crew was milling the road right in that area
in view of anything suspicious. I hadn't noticed anything out of the
    ordinary either..
Since I'm back, a couple weeks ago, a Friend put on a little gathering down at the pond..
Couldn't keep the Kids out of the fountain, haha, which is fine..
The old time pump Merry-go-Round got quite a bit of use also..
Forgot I took those pics until they showed up in the laptop after loading the blazed car..

    Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

What make & model is/was that burned up vehicle?

    Good thinking..
It was a 2007 Buick Rainer
They figure electrical (which is almost certain), but not sure yet exactly where it started..
Haven't heard it had a history of problems. Will have to check..

Had a decent day last weekend, so I thought I'd take the RTV down below and fill up the
bird feeders and then took a pic. Here in Upstate, the snow's still adhered to the trees..

Yesterday, while working on a machine in the basement, I heard much odd noise outdoors.
So I took a snap off the deck. I'd say 800 - 1,000. Couldn't get them all in the pic..

    Quoted from pinwiztom:

i just look out at my backyard
    and it relaxs me.

That does look nice. That was takin' today?
The trees are plenty bare here in Upstate N.Y.
Springs in no rush. Had a little snowfall today..

    Quoted from TractorDoc:

our local municipality decided to hold its annual car show

Not only cars, that's a nice looking downtown. Instead of only a face lift, ours got heavily changed around
back in the mid 70s. A very bad move..
How many years has the annual show been going?

    Quoted from RWH:

This is the retirement spot of my dreams

Is that place close to home? The pond looks like it may be getting fairly constant fresh water..

    Quoted from skink91:

I got hornet stung last week when I was mowing the lawn and my leg still has an itchy golf ball size lump.

Last week, a ground bee got me in the lower leg while mowing the pond's bank. Then a couple days after
while in the paddle boat and pulling weeds from the lower bank, a ground bee got me in the back of the neck.
That one developed a small bump. Ground bees are nasty, but I think maybe paper wasp are worse..

Monday, a Friend brought his Family and Kids over to do some paddle boating,
so I dressed the place up a little bit and took a pic beforehand..
It was a beauty of a day to be outdoors..

The past few post had some very nice scenery. Wish I could contribute the same.
Before this month was over, I planned on cutting down the top half and saving
the lower half of an overhanging branch because of the shade it gave around the
playground area, but today a quick snappy Micro-burst beat me to it..
I cut the first 10 or 12 feet , and the tractor took over from there.
It may be small, but she holds her own..

Another little result of last week's micro-burst.
I already had plenty to clean up, so it was nice
that it fell in, and not out of the brush..

There's a pond on the property, and have seen blue Herons, but unlike the skidish Herons,
as I was in the area, this guy had no problem gliding in and making himself welcomed.
Even while on the RTV, I was able to get within' 35-40 ft. and take a pic. I'm no bird watcher,
so maybe this thing is fairly common in Upstate N.Y., but I'm not sure if I've seen one before.
    Certainly not on the property..

A Friend of mine from Spencer has a collection of some pretty cool pins
    and EM arcade machines..

    Quoted from EJS:

It was build so well it actually posed a risk on the 40mph road they feared the mailbox would win a fight against a car.

Years back, the Kids had a thing with a High School Teacher. Every time they ripped out
his mailbox post, he would make it stronger. After ripping it out a few times, they finally
gave up. The 8" mailbox I beam post still stands today..
