Work...no windows where I work from. Home, this is a panorama (zoom and scroll) of me standing outside my bedroom. Back of the house is all windows...wife loves light...and pinball...got a good one!

Doc from Back To The Future showed up today. This car has been in my small town for decades. Occasionally my neighbor takes it out.

    Quoted from AFM95:

Didn't some parts of Iowa get 90-100 mph straight line winds from that storm?

That’s correct. Check out this satellite pic. Huge swath of destruction.

Moved recently. Lost a great view…but this isn’t too shabby.

Looks like a golf course? What hole?

    4. Grew up golfing this course with my dad and grandpa. Where I live now was a corn field. Sliced many golf balls here, now it’s my front/side yard. Don’t think I’ll ever pay for a golf ball again…and it hasn’t broken a window yet . Good memories.

    Quoted from EJS:

I used to work with someone whose family owned a course. He taught me about what houses to look for if buying on a course (I was buying a house 6 years ago) which side of the fairway to be on, depending if it bends or not. Also reminded me things will change over the years if they mix it up. Balls through the Windows, into the siding and on the roof each have their own hassles. Based on your pictures you seem to be out of the way.

This place is 250 yards from the T-box and another 30 yards off the fairway. The young guys insist on blasting their t-shots and they slice it something horrible. Most land in the large front/side yard. Nobody has ever had a house here, so the golfers have been used to just getting their ball. Now, they compete with me…or my dog…he loves golf balls and has figured out the sound of a golf ball landing close. I figure I’m just helping them to play better. Hit straighter and you won’t lose your ball to the dude in the new condo on fairway 4.

Storm passed just east. Cool clouds behind as it moved south.

arsehole Town council putting footpath behind all our houses, obviously no residents want it, away goes our privacy hello to the ratbag element in town having easy access to our backyards

Incredible view! And that sucks. ☹️

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

I think this is the coldest weather I've ever experienced without factoring in the windchill
    [quoted image]

Ooofff. That’s cold. Bet there’s a lot of house popping. We get -30s, in windchill though, for the New Years. “Why do we live where the air hurts our face?”

    Quoted from poppapin:

Holy shit, what's your heating bill? Heater's got to run non-stop.

It’ll be higher this winter…natural gas. It’s not too bad, this place is insulated extremely well…even with heating the garage (another gas heater) and a fireplace (gas again), total heat/gas should be between $200-$300 per month. Our old place (built in 2007) had 36 feet of floor to ceiling windows (and the house was only 44 feet in width). Then the heat would run continuously…but still not bad utilities as that was a geothermal HVAC.

Love the pictures here…time to contribute. Iowa, the trail outside our door…and Florida, the beach 1 block away. I am blessed.
