Quoted from yzfguy:[quoted image]
Was hoping this storm would stay south of the border - snow now changing to ice pellets and potential of 3 inches of rain this afternoon - it will be ugly

Hard right turn then an easy left left and down the speed chute to the ledge at the lake. Depending on the landing off the ledge another 200 or 300 ft of out of control sliding on the ice - this year would be a splash and that water is frickin cold - also noticed son forgot to put the bbq cover on

[quoted image]
Ours likes hanging out at the water dish - he gets disappointed that no one ever visits the watering hole
Quoted from TaylorVA:Snowed today
[quoted image]
Taylor - this is what snow looks like - happened yesterday and hopefully gone by the end of the weekend. Summer can not happen soon enough!

Great for the gardens and fruit trees and most people do not even realize there are hives on the property. Not many creatures work harder than a honey bee. Both swarms seem to have taken to their hives so it looks like i have 3 colonies on the go now.
Quoted from Nevus:Lake Powell in Page, AZ from our day on the lake today.[quoted image][quoted image]
Lake Powell is on my bucket lists of lakes to explore
Quoted from dirkdiggler:260 or 26?
26 boxes each one was 9 to 12 pounds - a little less in each box this year due to the heat
Quoted from littlecammi:The tape on the broken window pane looks like a track of the path of hurricane Ida.
The storm yesterday was the tail end of Ida - luckily most of the rain was west of us
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Spent most of the day laying a new floor in a bedroom downstairs. Now the fun job of picking a wall color
[quoted image]
You should pick a colour that matches all the pinball machines you will put in there
Quoted from Birdnest:Around 2 feet of snow last night and supposed to rain all day on Saturday
[quoted image][quoted image]
Rain it did - complete with a thunder storm. Spent a whole day shovelling snow only to have it washed away but learned the hard way always shovel or else you end up with a sheet of ice for the rest of winter.

So smooth, but are they hard to learn and enjoy?
If you are familiar with wake surfing then not to hard to get up. Foot placement is critical too far back and the foil rockets straight up and once the fin breaks the surface you are done. Should have a longer rope but my son was in such a hurry to try it out he forgot to grab the rope from the dock. Need to be careful as being above the water just increases the chance of a painful wipeout.
Quoted from punkin:Fuck you must have some big parties. I thought my dance floor was excessive.
Have to take advantage of the 3 days of summer that we get in Canada
Quoted from mtn-:Hmm.. I dont really follow. Are geckos used in some kind of commercial or similar? Or am I just stupid and drunken? Or both?
Maybe all of the above. Popular mascot for insurance company commercials in North America
Quoted from Atari_Daze:What size is that one?
It was actually only 3 inches - small by Houston or Australia standards
Quoted from mcluvin:What is that fossilized tooth from?[quoted image]
I wondered what the hell that was as well. Turns out was a piece of gelcoat from a boat repair - was from the lip of the plastic container.
Quoted from Slugmeister:20+ types of garter snakes in US and Canada. The San Francisco garter snake is IMO the best looking but sadly endangered.
[quoted image]
Our garter snakes are brown and we also have green snakes in our yard:
brown, with two light-coloured stripes down each side and two rows of alternating dark squares on its back
Nova Scotia's largest snake, average 46 to 66 cm in length but can range up to 90cm.
- surprisingly with all the water we have no aquatic snakes - guessing winter is a limiting factor
Agree the San Fran is a nice looking snake
Lost over 40 trees and do not have power back, but everyone is safe after hurricane Fiona- neighbour was extremely lucky the tree didn’t break window
