Quoted from Who-Dey:Now that is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you. That is Cherokee Lake.
Quoted from yfz450:Couple of young bears looking for some early morning bird seed. [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
We had a large black bear come wondering by Saturday.
Quoted from pinwiztom:These shots were taken this morning at 8AM.
Sunrise was at 6:43AM
Sky is dark due to a series of fires about 30 miles to the NE,

Update: The ash is starting to fall. Its 1:30PM but looks like 30 minutes after sunset outside.
Reminds me of the 2016 Gatlinburg fire. It looked like it was snowing here.
Quoted from ReadyPO:This is my view this fall. Lake erosion control and dredging project. Water was drawn down just after labor day.

Cherokee Lake varies 30 feet yearly. Still has 15 feet to drop for Winter target. We live on a deep cove, it has water year round.
My flight instructor has been thru bypass surgery. I have been thinking about selling my race boat to cover the cost of a light plane.
Pic taken just before the instructor turned the controls over to me. The helicopter was very enjoyable, great visability.
Quoted from pinwiztom:Your driveway looks like a great half (quarter) pipe for skateboard tricks.
Is it really that steep and deep from roadway to the garage doors.
(or optical illusion with way photo is cropped)
Any problems with water accumulation during heavy rain.
Driveway drains well. Our place is on a hillside. 3 sides 100 foot tall trees, South side lake. Our Grandson loves the driveway on my old skateboards and his razor scooter. I put a new tire on my unicycle so Buddy can learn it also.
Quoted from punkin:My landlord unloading the shopping out of his truck.
Complete aussie breakfast. You can't quite see the three giant tins of peaches.

It has been at 30 years since I a Tooheys. Can find them anymore.
Quoted from punkin:I'm no animal expert, but i know what it looks like.
A Gorgar hatchling?
Quoted from yzfguy:You planted clover?
Yes, I am a bee keeper. They make good stuff out of clover.
Yep, the lake is just starting to fill for the summer. Cherokee Lake drops 30 feet for Winter level. There should be enuff water to put the boats in next weekend.
Quoted from Dee-Bow:You should find a local beekeeper! They can come capture the queen and source all that honey! Must of fled a contaminated hive.
It just happens I am a local beekeeper. My neighbor across the lake called this morning about the cloud of bees in his yard. So I went and got them.
That is the only pic I took. Neighbor D may have more. I brush the cluster of bees into a hive bottom. Put the lid on it and wrap a strap around it. I stop the bottom entrance up with foam rubber.
Maybe I should keep one of my GoPros charged.
Quoted from zombywoof:How did you find yourself in a Mitchell Bomber?
It was at the local airport, I had not seen a B-25 before Always wanted to. In WW 2 my Great Uncle served on a B-25 over Italy.
Quoted from tscottn:Chemical fire in Houston yesterday. Started around 3pm, ended after 10pm. Can any of you Pilots/Aviation Enthusiasts spot the non working instrument?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Looks like you parked, I don't see any indicated airspeed.
Quoted from Jaybird815:I’ll be down here a lot this summer. My dads sick, that’s his backyard.
Jaybird I know your Dad is glad to have you care for him. I hope Dad can heal quickly.
This is last nights truck race at Bristol Tennessee. My Daughter scored a free pass for the suite from her work. Part of thr Nascar racing series.
