    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

When my wife and I were in our 20s we would grab a few beers, hit the back roads and crank up the tunes. Feeling a little housebound we decided to live our previous Alberta life in Saskatchewan today. This is just northeast of our town. Saw a no through sign so I headed north. Ran into a couple clearing brush and asked if this road was a dead end. Not only was it not a dead end but one of the coolest roads I've seen since living in Saskatchewan. [quoted image][quoted image]
Get to the bottom of the hill and we're in the middle of a wheat field. We even passed a car on this total dirt road[quoted image][quoted image]
Ended up in the reserve north of town. Saw these nice horses. Wife said we're bringing carrots on our next afternoon drive [quoted image][quoted image]

    Now that’s living buddy !!!

Goats were not scared of us - we could be within ~25 feet before they decided we were too close. [quoted image][quoted image]

God bless you Rad! That is truly incredible ! I’m obviously from the Midwest n not much here as far as natural scenery goes .Here you pretty much have to make your own scenery this is the best I can do .

Last week we saw a Space X launch on way to a fishing trip in the Cape.Seen a retrieval boat and a stage 1 getting ready to be used for a 10th time .Wife liked seeing the cruise ships in port and caught a trio of kings along with a bunch of odds and ends .Then there was some talk of a sighting during the launch .I went back to our pictures and found this …..wait for it ….

Cray's are a term for our lobsters here which are not true lobsters, these ones are painted crays, live in the ocean and are not the little fresh water crays you are thinking of, though we have lots of them.
    [quoted image]
We do have some fresh water crays that are larger than what you'd find most anywhere else, including the Murray cray and the Marron. Marron grow longer than a foot. Murray crays acn grow up to 6lb's in weight.

It's a pick off google to demonstrate the tropical crays. We do get them here now and then, but they are a more northern species usually.
We get three lobsters here, the painted crays, Eastern Rock Lobster and Southern Rock lobster being the other two.
This is my best... trapped, i'm not getting in the water round here, i know what's under the surface. Pic deosn't do it justice, it was oversize and should have gone back.

I don’t blame you at all for not jumping in .I’ve had some close calls in the FL Keys but your neck of the woods is a whole different world .Buddy I’m planning a family trip for 2024 to Sydney /Bora Bora .Sad part is a pin will have to go to make this happen but oh well .How far are you from Sydney ?

    #4480 1 year ago
    Quoted from punkin:

Only 4-5 hour drive mate or a short flight. There's a spare bedsitter here with a kitchenette and ensuite too.....
There are some great charters close by, Wooli is fantabulous, whale watching, fishing and diving. Search Solitary Islands marine park. It's out the front of my place. 3/4hr drive from mine.
Coffs Harbour is 20 mins in the other direction.

I’ve always enjoyed your posts here Punkin .I will be reaching out when the time comes .I’ve been dreaming of this trip for as long as I can remember .Australia has always been a destiny of mine for whatever reason .If I had to guess I think mainly it’s because you all seem like straight shooters that enjoy life more than the rest .Can’t wait

    #4483 1 year ago
    Quoted from punkin:

How come Sydney? have you got rellies there or something you particularly want to see?
I'd look at Brisbane for a family trip, warmer, all the theme parks are there, beaches and girlies AND it's only 3.5 hr's to mine.

I’ve have not thought of this but will gather the family and look into it for sure .Brisbane might be more our speed .Me and my wife were born and raised in Chicago and after having kids made the move to Indiana which is much more rural ,although we’re in a subdivision ,it borders farmland .It’s not the big city , it’s not the boonies but somewhere in between .Thanks my friend and tty soon .
