Quoted from RWH:Jay please say you and your Dad fished there? Wow looks so peaceful the only sound acceptable would be the Largemouth as he broke water. Enjoy it brother Dad's are not around forever.
Yeah, world class striper fishing, going to go out this afternoon
Quoted from RWH:You bastard! I'll begrudgingly wish you luck but secretly I hope your Dad out fishes you
Haha, I’m then driving down to S Florida to do some more fishing
Quoted from RWH:You going after one of those Tarpon Jay?
My cousin grew up down here and he laughed when I asked about Tarpon, “I only tarpon fish with the tourists, I’ve caught about 1,000”, he only likes to fish for what he eats now. The largest Tarpon tournament in the world is about 1 mile from Useppa, George HW fishes it every year.
Quoted from RWH:Well at the very least fish for some of their hybrid largemouth, they are huge down there like the ones in Texas. Your cousin probably fishes for grouper and redfin to eat.
Snook is what he’s usually after
Quoted from DBLM:On my boat earlier today drinking rum at a marina. Bought a first edition Jaws paperback from the marina and came back to see all the Jaws speculation. Please let it happen!
[quoted image]
You’re going to need a bigger bottle!
Quoted from mtn-:Looks like your leaf blower is gonna be put to good use.
And my 17 yr old
Quoted from Coindork:Damn......
That’s awesome.
Oh man, I’m still laughing, he called the police station and told them he was doing it, epic.
Quoted from Strummy:[quoted image]
Damm coyotes
Our county was paying $50 for a tail
Quoted from punkin:Arsehole.
Worst still boasting about it.Fuck you and your mower. That's a python.
Would you talk about people mowing dogs? Cock.
GetMeModsPunkin
Don’t watch Swamp People:Serpent Invasion, the whole show is about catching snakes to be culled.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Uh Houston, we have a problem.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Your whole city is probably shut down? Haha
Quoted from Daditude:I am near Dallas...and i can assure you everything is shut down here. I heard on the news this is the most snow we have had in 11 years.[quoted image]
It’s been a crazy winter here, mild weather and no snow, then February hit, hasn’t been above 15 in weeks and after today’s round of snow there will be close to 3’ on the ground.
Quoted from Kkoss24:Spring ? What’s spring sounds nice ?
[quoted image]
I shoveled that because my snowblower kept dying, I got out on the first flight south.
Quoted from punkin:Thank you guys, good to know the whole country isn't white stuff and skinny cows.
86 degrees in the Glades today, what was the temp there ?
Quoted from punkin:You can eat the bull sharks too. They come up real good and are crowd pleasers.
My rules were so long as they were smaller than me and the sharp bits came off outside the boat. Folding pruning saw is your friend.
This guy was about 60kg of boneless fish steaks, that'll pay for your fuel real quick.
[quoted image]
Yeah, I’ve had shark, we were fishing for reds so no steel leader, still fought the bull for a few minutes before it snapped off. Fun times!
Today’s haul and dinner !

The majority of it went to the restaurants my cousin runs, then we got a couple hundred pounds of colossal U10s for friends and family at cost. And yes I’m bringing some up to Johnny’s for a nice feast when I drive back north.
Quoted from JayDee:I took this awhile ago and totally forgot about it. I’ve never seen so many rats at one location. The developer must have pissed off ALL the trades. There was at least 10 more Scabbys out of view down the road to the left
[quoted image]
Quoted from Jaybird815:Racing back to beat the storm
[quoted image]
Apparently a good thing we left when we did, that’s Sanibel in the pic
https://nbc-2.com/news/local/2021/07/24/two-struck-by-lighting-on-sanibel-beach/
Quoted from eagle18:I don’t guess any Rum punch was on that cruise?
Oh yeah, it was an adults only cruise
Quoted from punkin:Best pic of a skinny cow yet.
What is it with you and skinny cows? Haha, the average cow in the US is about 1000 lbs bigger than in Australia.
Quoted from GrahamStrong93:Had the chance to watch bssbllr hop on the pin!
[quoted image]
It’s great to see him up and about!
Quoted from mtn-:Looks like it should be called "melted cheese habanero" or something.
It’s a California Reaper, over 3xs hotter than a habanero
Quoted from punkin:I know you guys aren't allowed to take the girl skinny cows, but i bet they are the tasty/tender ones.
Many states have a doe season, depending on deer populations.
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:I have that itch, to go catch some fish.
[quoted image]
Hey, I’ve stayed in that first room on the right, cool place it was built on an old fishing pier.
Quoted from jaytrem:Looks good for my ski trip! I'll try to stop by while I'm there.
A few nice locations around here on your route
B537E41F-14B9-4821-A7E1-BA39EAB0A5EC (resized).jpegQuoted from jaytrem:Thanks guys, the Ft Wayne place looks awesome. Only problem is I'm not driving, flights were dirt cheap.
What happened to the bike ride?
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:Hell No! 3240 cans for $4700.00, HELL NO!
My beer currently costs $20.13 after tax for a 30 pack. I am not doing the math, but I would guess 3240 cans of my beer would cost around $2200.00.
Damn, you guys in Georgia have it rough. A 30 pack here is $14.99.
Quoted from littlecammi:At least the cycle oil barrels are light and should be easier to load than heavier oil.
Haha, yeah this will only take 24 hours to load.
Quoted from mbwalker:Are you stuck there for 24 hrs. to keep any eye on it while it loads?
12 hours and then we get relief, hook it up and get it pumping and then monitor flow rates on the computer. Easy money. A lot of paperwork to fill out for the coastguard.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:I was just reading yesterday the Mississippi levels were down significantly causing yet more product shipping issues, what are you seeing where you are?
Water levels are low, so the barge company’s just lower the load capacity. Which is fine with me, they don’t take as long to pump off, and there’s also more work because more barges are needed to get these plants their needed chemicals.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Another one of the town moose hanging out in a friends backyard, eating brush
[quoted image]
Those are tasty as well
Quoted from pinwiztom:You ever fish off your barge?
I haven’t, but some guys do. I do watch where the boaters are catching fish, and come back to those spots, with pretty good success.
Quoted from Sputnik:I have been there a few times boating and working. Enjoy your stay.
I’ll be down here a lot this summer. My dads sick, that’s his backyard.
Quoted from mcluvin:Seeing any fireflies? Mosquito control kills most of ours.
There’s some fireflies, there’s very few mosquitoes in this area. So not a massive population.
Quoted from LTG:I hope he's on the mend.
LTG : )
He is better, he has cancer but the end is not imminent. Thank You for asking.
Quoted from Sputnik:Jaybird I know your Dad is glad to have you care for him. I hope Dad can heal quickly.
I appreciate the kind words. I’ve been having a blast hanging with pops.
Quoted from punkin:I know where to find the fish there. Probs 4 spots i can either see or imagine just out of frame.
I saw 2 eddy’s
Quoted from punkin:Now that's a hairy dog!
I usually stop and pet dogs, I let him just walk on by.
Quoted from punkin:What happens if you are sharing a footpath? Would he generally be happy if you just moved out of the way?
Would he be the same for a child?
Off to google i go.
Bear spray hahaha
Quoted from punkin:[quoted image]
Hopefully one of those IV bags is a Lager drip.
Quoted from golfingdad1:And this is what happens when you go to lunch and leave the water running. For fuck sake
[quoted image]
Damn, did he take a 2 hour lunch?
