Get them in picnic areas and caravan parts round the coast here they are really tame, but get them away from people and they fuck off at the first sign of a footstep.
Quoted from Sputnik:I just caught this swarm of bees.
[quoted image]
You should find a local beekeeper! They can come capture the queen and source all that honey! Must of fled a contaminated hive?!

It just happens I am a local beekeeper. My neighbor across the lake called this morning about the cloud of bees in his yard. So I went and got them.

That is awesome! Do you have more pics of the collecting?! How do they follow you and the queen home?! Or do you wait til they're all in a box hive?!
That is the only pic I took. Neighbor D may have more. I brush the cluster of bees into a hive bottom. Put the lid on it and wrap a strap around it. I stop the bottom entrance up with foam rubber.
Maybe I should keep one of my GoPros charged.

This is in a wall of a small town church nearby.. my friend was asked to be ready for spring as the bees are already acting up! Crazy they can produce that heat in the middle of our winter months!

Amazing civilizations in the insect world.
Every bee you see outside a hive is female.
Yes, please! That would be pretty cool to see!

Personally, i respect their privacy..You peeking between the bee's knees?!

David Attenborough told me. He's got a trustworthy persona.
You guys have got the best mushrooms out. I like hunting shrooms, but you only get Agaricus, slippery jacks, milk caps etc in the wild here. Everything else i wanted to try i had to grow. Never quite got around to trying to grow morels, they are complicated, but grew Lions Manes and some other of your wild ones.
Quoted from rad:Morning hike 4/16.
I had a view like that once when I was living up above Boulder in the Lee Hill area, off of Deer Trail Road.
Your view looks like it could be from Flagstaff or maybe Green Mountain. Where was the picture taken?

I heard someone say that the cultivated morels don't taste as good as the wild ones.
Trying to positive but talking about morels got me thinking on this news report yesterday. Two mushroom hunters here found a body of a small kid (estimate 5-7 years old) that had been killed about a week ago. I hope they catch who did this.
FULL story below.

Darn close!! Pic was taken on Bear Peak.
Quoted from rad:Morning hike 4/16.
Is that overlooking the recent burned forest fire area?
(I have some cousins from near Boulder, that lost everything in the fire.)
Quoted from johninc:Full moon over the strip last night. [quoted image]
That looks like a cool place to see the strip for sure. To hot in the summer for me though.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Some moron hit a pitbull in the reserve today in front of us. He rolled into the ditch and limped scared thru a field. Broke my heart. Now I see this article. Poor little guy. Wife asked if we can go get him.
[quoted image]
GO GET HIM!
Quoted from yzfguy:GO GET HIM!
I think that 1 of the best feelings is helping out to those that can’t speak but need help!
One of my snakes is a rescue. Was owned by a couple of 20 something brothers who used to like to see how many times they could get him to strike and to tease him for half an hour before giving him food.
Bastard bit me across my specs first time i handled him and the next couple times. he's a great guy now, confident, happy and friendly. 6' long and kids love handling him.
Quoted from hwyhed:I think that 1 of the best feelings is helping out to those that can’t speak but need help!
Yup. No better feeling than seeing a rescued pet that is able to relax and feel comfortably loved.. their gratitude cannot be beat
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Just starting. Expecting 10 to 15 cm. Hoping highways are good tomorrow
[quoted image]
My view while taking a break. Says 52 degrees, so 10-11 Dirk..ya I know, I’m an asshole..

Was probs a Spooky machine i bet.
Quoted from JeffF:Hoping this is the last of it for the season. Power's been out since 2am and we're not supposed to get it back for a couple more days. Heavy, heavy snow...
Damn! At least you have a good generator and internet...
Was sitting in the shed when a huey called me out to play by buzzing my top windows over and over.
I went and sat on the bench to watch and he was doing ten yard circles at eye level in the yard, playing in the breeze that was coming (from his arse in the pic) so he could glide and not flap when he was going upwind.
It took me a little bit longer watching him to realize he was playing with his shadow.
kept wondering why he was staying on the sunny side of the driveway till my tiny brain got it. You can see his shadow in the pic. he wouldn't land on my hand though.

Still coming down here. Might be a slow drive to your area today
Quoted from Darcy:Started snowing yesterday, continued overnight, this is this morning. The temperatures have been around plus 1 degree to minus 2 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile in the deep south.

Is that "lake effect" or are you not near Erie?
Quoted from Grayman_EM:Is that "lake effect" or are you not near Erie?
It was just an oddball storm. We don't get much lake effect here anymore.
Quoted from mcluvin:Damn! At least you have a good generator and internet...
Generator has been through it's paces over the last 20 years. LOL. Was thinking about upgrading but haven't pulled the trigger yet. This may give me that push to do so.
And our internet went down a few hours after the power outage so we are stuck with 4G like everyone else here on the hill. The poor cell site is completely overloaded so it makes it as slow as dialup.
Fun, fun. ETA for power is Friday around 10pm.
