    Quoted from TimBoch:

Hole 1 is patterned after #11 at Augusta. The tee is just left of the 3rd green in the top picture and goes to just right of the waterfall. It's about 36 yards.
Hole 2 goes across the waterfall and is a 1/10th scale of #12 at Augusta at 15 yards.
Hole 3 is patterned after #13 at Augusta and is about 33 yards. The tee is from behind the 1st green near the ballwasher and goes to the green in the first picture.

I see these VW camper guys at Doheny every now and then. They sure seem to fit in. Funny thing is, the outdoor mall in San Clemente has a car show every Sat morning that is supposed to be CA's biggest weekly car show. These wouldn't necessarily be so cool there with all the other amazing cars that show up there.

For the past 2 months, everyday, this barred owl has been constantly hooting day and night next to my house in the woods. I found it enjoyable and relaxing.

    PXL_20210516_000733317.MP~2.jpgPXL_20210516_000733317.MP~2.jpg

Then nothing. I noticed immediately when it stopped because it had been so constant and consistent.

I actually just found the carcass a couple blocks away in the middle of the road. I'm saddened and miss it so much.

Sorry you lost your little buddy.

Many years ago an albino squirrel hung around my yard. I put nuts out for it. At the base of every tree, he couldn't always find the right one.

They usually don't last long in the wild. Poor eye sight and all. After a couple months I didn't see him any more.

And many years later I still think of him.

We have a bunch of squirrels also and feel like their our little buddies. They hang out and just snack on seeds. They're so used to us that we walk right by the tree and they don't even react to us anymore. I love watching them chase each other around the trees and when they judge how far of a jump to make to the next tree. Would hate to see anything happen to them.

Yep, I know what you mean. Last year I had hawks move in a tree and build a nest. After a few months with the squirrel population completely decimated, they moved on.

I recall one particular evening the normal calls were extra loud and frantically crazy like some kind of private war was on. The next day I went to cut the grass and found sizable branches down all over the back yard. Mysterious.

Living in a heavily wooded area, there's always something going on.

Oh well, I still get to see a group of deer that travel through the back yard regularly around twilight on their nightly journey.

    Always something.

Same here. I’ll have to dig up some videos of the squirrel that I had hanging out with me. It would literally knock on my patio door to see if I was home. And when I came out it would sit on my lap and eat nuts out of my hand. After it was done eating it would lay on the back of the patio couch by my head and relax. It took me awhile to train it to get close to me. Probably a month or so. Everyday it would get closer and closer until it wasn’t afraid of me. Then one day it never showed up. I was pretty upset for awhile.

There's a water Dragon down on our back deck that you have to step over he's in your way. A pair of breeding Kookaburra's that eat lunch meat of the back deck next to us, ducks and swamp hens, Kingfishers and honey eaters, the landlord feeds them all (cept the kingfishers).

We watched a 5' freshwater ell in the shallows on the weekend blow us cleaning up bread scraps from the ducks morning feed.
Thought of this thread but didn't have my camera with me and knew i'd scare it off if i stood up, was only ten or twelve feet from me.

I'll take my phone down for a week or two while i go down for my lunchtime joint and see if i can catch one on film.

    Quoted from ImNotNorm:

I hold a special place in my heart for a few animals. Owls are one of them.

I think they are super cool, but the owls here kind of scare me.

The owls here have like 4 foot wing spans, and have a face that looks like a monkey face to me.

They only come out at night, and they have swooped me, they did not touch me, but I felt the wind from their wings.

Best I can tell is there are 4-5 of them, and they are very loud, and when they are close you can see them sitting on limbs in different trees.

In the daytime we have tons of squirrels and chip monks, I like to watch them, but it is getting old the way they dig up the yard so bad that it actually makes it a rough ride cutting the grass over all their holes.

In the daytime we also have a lot of hawks, and I have always been puzzled how these very big hawks let these smaller birds chase them around.

If I can ever figure out how to use the camera on my phone, I could post a lot here.

This is lilbuddy aka Rocky. She was a very smart squirrel who lived in a huge oak tree next to the job site I worked at for about a year. She would come down from the tree as soon as I parked my truck and would beg for food. I went back a year later and as soon as she saw my big Ford truck she came running! I know you aren’t supposed to feed them but she had an injured front paw so my coworker and I would give her peanuts or the occasional peanut butter cracker at break/lunch time.
We stopped when we read about some issues around the US with squirrels and the bubonic plague!!!

The next thing that drives me crazy. My yard backs up to 2 houses and they each have their own fence obviously. I don’t mind the wood one and will probably stain it or something, but I can’t stand bright white vinyl fencing. It’s blinding with the sun, and looks out of place. Painting it would be a constant upkeep battle because I’m pretty sure nothing will stay stuck on for more than a year. Anyone else have any ideas or have done something?

Put up your own fence the entire length so it doesn't look like patchwork.

    Quoted from yzfguy:

Pit up your own fence the entire length so it doesn't look like patchwork.

I thought about that, but I’m too nice and don’t want to create a problem with the guy behind me that put it up. Only because the fence continues on beyond into my next door neighbors yard about 30’. So then essentially I’ll be tearing down what he paid to put up, and then leaving him with patchwork. The chainlink fence is the end of my yard.

Perhaps replace the chain link with another consistent type of fence you would like to see that is high enough on your side and take it all the way across the yard? Or leave the fences as is and take the money you are saving to buy more pinball machines. Yeah view may be meh but there are worse things in life .

    #1828 2 years ago

that fence is crying for a hedge, one that grows like 15 feet tall.

Get a local graffiti artist in paint your side of both fences. It's cheaper than you think.

I have lots of big graffiti murals here and they were about the same price as having someone come in and paint it white.

Wait till you see this one if it comes together!

Think Betty and Veronica in the tinted van side windows doing a tit mash on the glass.

Deadpool laying on a pinball down below.

Woopi Freeballer logo splashed up the sides.
Stilldragon Australia logo on the back.

I'll know in a week or so if they can find an illustrator to do what i want and if i want to pay the cost.
