Ours likes hanging out at the water dish - he gets disappointed that no one ever visits the watering hole
First picture is the pier in San Clemente where there is a nice seafood restaurant (Fisherman's) on the pier. Train stops here. 2nd picture shows Catalina (26 mi) towards the right background if you stretch picture. Hard to make out on the left is San Clemente Island, 55 miles or so out. We can see it about 15 days a year when the air is clean. The Navy uses the island for target practice.

Photos were take about 15-20 yrs ago while working in africa,
not sure if these are from when I was in Port Gentil Gabon or in Malongo, Cabinda Angola.
This is a photo of an adolescent Gorilla that was at a zoo/menagerie
next to a hotel when I was working in Port Gentil Gabon.
The menagerie also had a couple baby gorillas, some chimps and various other animals (smaller game) from the region,
biggest being some antelope and a few eagles and some crocs.
Conditions were certainly not up to USA zoo standards.
This is a pic of the GTB SweetHearts I brought over to africa from the states, when I was working in the oil fields in Angola.
It was infested with termites, since the day I bought it, and no manner of extermination method or fumigating
seemed to work to get rid of them.
It might slow them down for a bit, but they always came back,
and I would see evidence of their little shitballs in little piles under the game,
I think the fumigating would kill the adults but the eggs would hatch a few weeks later.
I ended up selling the game to a fellow worker, expat, who had a bar in Nigeria or was it Congo,
where he was going to place it.
The game played very well, and I got lots of enjoyment out of it for the 5+ yrs that I had it and was stationed there.

Awesome little guy. Also check out the dogs rule thread here on pinside!

We are in the far NW Suburbs of Chicago and the sunrise was just as stunning here too this morning.
Quoted from 29REO:The large birds were out in full force this morning. Never had wild turkey, heard they are all dark meat.
My sister's boyfriend usually brings wild turkey for Thanksgiving, he smokes it and it tastes great. Its important to prepare it by brining it first as that helps to tenderize the very lean and dense meat that wild turkey not breed for meat production have.
Quoted from 29REO:Never had wild turkey, heard they are all dark meat.
A different Wild Turkey is frequently sighted in the more urban areas.

Maybe the nicest sugar shack in the Northwoods. A buddy of mine’s place.
Cooking sap for maple syrup.
A sleeping loft above for overnight cooks, a small bar..
I never knew there were structures made specifically for syrup! Looks like a cool excuse to hang out and drink!

Now that's someplace I could hang out.

Taylor - this is what snow looks like - happened yesterday and hopefully gone by the end of the weekend. Summer can not happen soon enough!

Quoted from RA77:This ones for you TractorDoc
I'm a bit late in checking in. Looks like those tractors are set up to run some sort of pipe or wiring. I loved seeing all the unique machines when I was on your side of the world -- everything tended to be a lot bigger (than what we typically see in Ohio) too.
Part of today's haul. Its never too early to start collecting firewood, right?
Sunset last night and the moon setting this morning. The sun set between Catalina out to the left if you stretch picture and Dana Point to the right.
There is a small section of homes a quarter mile north of where I took the sunset picture. It's called Beach Rd here. Awesome place to live, except for that damn train right near your house. Also having lived there and growing up a couple blocks from ocean, the best climate is about 2 miles inland where it's often sunny and 75 with the beach being overcast and fog like.

I'm pretty sure those mushrooms aren't poisonous.
