Through the windows of my soul, this is what I see right now!
Finished 3 months of sole developer on a complex application, 60 hours overtime last 4 weeks to meet the deadline. Now i look forward to having more time for music and pinball! Have a great weekend!
Cheers from snowy and cold Norway!

Oh shit... guess you learn to deal with anxiety for death from above as a bartender
Saw this at Doheny beach. Vintage vw camper day I guess. Looked like the 70s, but smelled like today's killer green instead of thai stick when cruising by on my bike. These were real popular with guys from Laguna Beach who smuggled hash in the 70s.

Is that a pun on schooner ?
Ill be down Woopi in a couple of weeks
Found an old thumb drive from back when I was working in Africa (in the oil Field).
Some interesting shots over the years,
thought I would share some of them here over the course of the next few weeks.
Some will have a story behind them
others just an interesting shot.

Words I do not like to see in front of the word SNOW: "accumulating" and "another round of."
January has supposedly been warmer than usual this year, since daily high temps have been a couple degrees higher than average. But strong winds have kept the "feels like" temperature in the teens, and we have had a lot of days with 100% cloud cover and are far below the normal amount of sun. The few days we had bright sun were also the lowest high temperatures.
As of a week ago we were well below the average snow for the month of January, but the 6" last Tuesday (officially at O'Hare - we got more than that here) and the 10"+ last night and today put us well over the January average. The low temps and lack of sun prevented any of Tuesday's 6" snowfall from melting and the current 10"+ has just piled on top of it. It is still snowing as I type this (the winter storm warning for our area won't expire until 6 PM today). Picture from my front window:

Quoted from Bud:Took this pic awhile back and forgot about it: Mount Fuji Japan.
Did you use a cell phone camera, or did you use a standard camera with Fuji film?
When working in the oil fields of West Africa,
I worked at the CABGOC facility located near Malongo, Cabinda, Angola.
There was some wildlife within the compound of about 10 sq mile,
near the beach for all the offshore work we were doing.
Lots of fruit bats, monkeys, deer, jackals, snakes and all kinds of birds.
No big game, like Lions or elephants, rhinos nor giraffes, etc.
Most of those were destroyed and killed during the Angolan civil war to feed the rebels.
Anyway the compound had a significant amount of feral domestic cats,
I befriended a few, at times feeding them.
Though this time, it looks like a snake decided it needed a snack.
I am surprized, the two other cats in the photo are just looking on intently
as their buddy succumbs.
Quoted from pinwiztom:note the horizon and curvature of the earth, because one is so high up to be able to actually see it.
Yea!

Was hoping this storm would stay south of the border - snow now changing to ice pellets and potential of 3 inches of rain this afternoon - it will be ugly

The mounds of snow at the side of the road from plowing will hang around until April. More snow due Thursday and Saturday mornings then a big drop in temperature for the weekend (and beyond) as the polar vortex brings highs near zero, lows below zero, and -30 to -40 wind chills by Monday AM.
The sun is out (but isn't melting anything). Here's a view out my front door. Our front walk should be between the two bushes.

The mound at the end of the drive was too high for my snowblower after the snowplows came through. Had to shovel it out in chunks. The mailman is going to have a hard time reaching my mailbox surrounded by the piled up snow.

Here is another snake photo from Africa, this time maybe biting off more than it can chew.
It was discovered while maintenance people were mowing the tall grass in some of the fields within the compound.
I think the deer (fawn) was already dead but the python perished when the mower ran over the snake.

Arsehole.
Worst still boasting about it.

Fuck you and your mower. That's a python.
Would you talk about people mowing dogs? Cock.

Don’t watch Swamp People:Serpent Invasion, the whole show is about catching snakes to be culled.
Did not mean to piss anyone off. No boasting.
The Python was not purposely killed
as it and the deer were not visible in the tall grass at the time the riding mower was working.
Actually I do not know for sure that the snake is dead,
but that was the story I heard (or maybe pure conjure on my part),
when the photo was sent around at the compound at that time,
some 20 yrs ago, my memory might not be the best.
It ( and previous cat/snake pic) just shows the cycle of life.
I do not cherish cats being eaten by snakes, (I have 10 cats)
nor deer attempting to be eaten by snakes or snakes being kill,
but shit happens and these pics just show real life in africa;
being a lot different than suburban life.
Just thought it to be an interesting and unusual photo.

I don't watch any tv at all.
Following are a few photos taken around spring/summer of 2012
when I was living/working in Aberdeen Scotland for about 2 yrs.
Showing the street I lived on (all the buildings were built of granite from nearby quarry about 130 yrs ago).
Also a view of our back garden (and neighbors back garden).
The little silver car on the street was my car, a Toyota Scion IQ.
It took a while getting use to driving on the wrong side of the road,
but having such a tiny car made parking and driving easier.

I see you're in Texas. You must work for deeproot. They seem to try to over-engineer everything.
Was the third pic one taken of their new rolling leg assembly, the PinWheel™?
I realize a cloudy day here is better than most elsewhere this time of year. Dana Point lost their tall ship Pilgrim last year when it listed and couldn't be saved. Sad as it was scheduled for maintenance, but for some reason was still in the water. In the fall, tall ships from other cities stop by and they have cannon battles. They ask if you want to help work on board. Its hard to believe in today's world that they allowed us to work as deckhands. It was kinda dangerous for someone with no experience to be doing this type of work on a real tall ship. But still kinda fun to do. This tall ship is like a pro model. Pretty basic. The Pilgrim was used by school districts for day trips on the ocean to teach children about the wonders of our ocean.
