Quoted from Atari_Daze:
Said it before, will say it again, that sure is pretty to visit, but I don't live in it!
Every year I say to the wife "I'm done with this shit. Either we move to the west coast or somewhere tropical"
Quoted from jaytrem:
We have the decency to keep out snow indoors here in NJ...

Texas or Arizona for year round decent temps.

Yes, year round operation. They were shut down all summer due to the virus though. It's always 28 degrees inside, so the snow never thaws and freezes. Usually in the 80s around here in the summer. We bought a six-pack where you get 6 2 hour sessions for $99. Great place to learn.

Two words fire and hurricanes. At least with hurricanes if you are high enough (elevation) it might be ok but that air conditioner bill!
All that mobile dispensary needs is a "Mr. Softy Cone" on top and a little carnival music playing so I know when my favorite people are coming by.
Quoted from rad:
A blast of winter arrived - very timely (this is from our place just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park - west side of Estes Park). About 16" of snow have fallen - helping put a blanket (albeit potentially temporary) on the fire.

Was going to grab the phone but I got to baked to show a pic of the hazy moon tonight. The smell if smoke is really strong and assume it's the Colorado fires.
Edit. I went outside and snapped this pic. My clothes reak of fire and was outside for 30 seconds. My wife woke up thinking there was a fire in the house. Lol
Just outside Lashburn, SK yesterday. 10 minutes before (west) of this it was sunny. Got real dark in a hurry and drove right into feezing rain. Was going about 125 km/hr when suddenly my car went sideways. Holy crap my heart skipped a beat or three. Luckily never hit the ditch or anyone else.
Quoted from Tyamry:
Beautiful night in the Pacific Northwest.

Looks like a puzzle
Been trying to get a picture of this Steller's Jay for some time as it bounces across the deck rail, either don't have the phone/camera handy or can't get close enough. Finally got one today and didn't even notice until I zoomed in there are 2 of them! Alien Star for scale (and for those concerned that window faces north no direct sunlight).

Put a bunch of raw peanuts all over your rails and watch the numbers of Jay's multiply. They will have you trained in no time.I love em very spirited and entertaining.Oh and you will find peanuts in strange places too as they stash them for later.
Quoted from Pinball-is-great:
Brought a group out to Cat Island NWR in Louisiana to see the big cypress tree. Largest trunk for a cypress tree in N America.
Estimated to be over 1000 yrs old.
You call that the Moses tree?
Quoted from Jaybird815:
This guy cruising through my town gets it!

Oh man, I’m still laughing, he called the police station and told them he was doing it, epic.
Quoted from Sputnik:
Some fall color in the trees. The leaves don't look so nice in the yard.
This is my view this fall. Lake erosion control and dredging project. Water was drawn down just after labor day.

Cherokee Lake varies 30 feet yearly. Still has 15 feet to drop for Winter target. We live on a deep cove, it has water year round.

30 feet is a lot, that is getting close to the deepest part of the lake. This drawn down was about 6.5 feet. I live in flatland!
