    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

I was outside doing some landscaping when I heard this squeaking sound. After about 10 minutes of hearing it I went to investigate.
How smart is this little f'r? He's sharpening his teeth on some antlers. Looks like he's been doing it for a while. They're all shaved down[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

He’s not sharpening his teeth, he’s actually eating the antlers. Small animals like rodents and such will chew on antlers to extract minerals like calcium.

From my trip last week: Military Police practicing high risk traffic stops, Engineers on our CERFP (Chemical, Biological, Radiological/Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Enhanced Response Force Package) doing search and rescue, and Chemical Specialists on the CERFP team practicing decontamination operations after an event. The CERFP supports civilian authorities in response to a CBRNE incident.

It was a pre arranged meeting; just a good laugh to see the game when you drive up and still in your vehicle. It was worth the 2.5 hour drive one way. It was supposed to be not working but I’m just having reset issues which I haven’t put much time into....I think just a run out switch needs to be cleaned.

We are sitting on our porch with a cold beer again. The sky has a bit of color this evening.

    Quoted from joemagiera:

Least favorite fresh water fish, taste wise, has to be Northern Pike. Though I've never tried Muskie. They're supposed to be just as bad taste wise, but the best fighters (never caught one either).

The temperature of the water is the problem. You catch a Northern or even any bass for that matter in a big cold body of water (think end of May) and the taste is great. The problem with Northern Pike is the Y-bones, so you have to know how to fillet them right.

Another project for the wife completed. Used 1\2 inch gas
pipe and a few fittings and base plates for her curtains.
I didn't think it would look as good as it does. Made our view even
    nicer.

Most folks I talk to in the Northwoods say Northern Pike is number #1, even over Walleye.
Y bones are tricky, especially in the smaller ones, so I pickle them. Y bones disappear! Very easy to do, and it is very very good with some onions, sweet peppers, carrots etc.

Fishing on the Little Miami River in Loveland Ohio. Grew up on this river so it holds a lot of memories for me and especially this day. Blow the picture up that you can see my rods in and you will see about a 1/ mile up just left of center are some kids swinging on a rope and swimming. Damn I can't tell you how many times my brothers and I did that made me reminisce they were some of the best moments of my life. Yeah a good day.

    What is that exactly?
    Some kind of salamander?

My wife figures it was a salamander. Never seen one that large. More like a foot long from tail to nose. I tried moving him but he didn't care for that so I just put the tarp back over and left him alone

Catch anything? What type of fish?

I was fishing for channel cat and perch. I caught 6 that day 4 channel and 2 sauger which is of the perch family but not the one I was fishing for. lol Water was a bit merky or I would have been fishing for smallmouth while I waited on my dead lines. Plenty of great bass in the riffles and the small backups.

My new favorite food establishment right on beach at Doheny state beach. To the right is Dana Point harbor. My brother and I ride my harley e bikes down to beach for breakfast. If you follow the coastline to the left it shows how the coastline changes from south facing beaches to west facing beaches in San Clemente.

My backyard is pretty much a jungle and I like it that way (better then having to deal with it and mow etc).

So much shade back there you cant really grow grass anyways.

A mix of cool old trees and bamboo... big BBQ setup/ porch area on the other side.
