It looks like all your glazing and structure is intact, a real mess but it looks like you dodged a bullet.

Quoted from TigerLaw:We are cleaning up the yard today and tomorrow.
Sorry to hear of your damage.
Hope your poodle is doing well.
Look on the bright side, you will not have as many leaves to rake up this fall.
Best of luck and be safe.

Thank you for the nice post. Megatron is living in Houston with friends for the next week while we clean up Lake Charles. He kept wanting to eat shingles...so he needed to evacuate for a bit.
I’m worried about you all up in the Pacific Northwest with these fires. I hope you and your family are well.
Weather has improved immensely (a lot cooler and low wind and foggy)
Still smoky smoggy, supposed to rain on Friday.
We got two reasons to wear masks now.
Hoping the hurricanes will take a break for rest of the year.

I know, right?
Who does that?
I should say, who Has the Opportunity to do that.

Its no big thing, really. I take the train for five minutes, and then I walk 2-3 kilometers. Helps me beeing socially distant and its enjoyable as hell with a good podcast. And when I bring my dog to work sometimes, its even better.
Taken from my bedroom a few days ago. I live by a pier and it caught on fire. Gonna be smouldering for weeks... with the toxic smoke from that and the wildfires down south, my family has been stuck inside. Luckily we got our first pin and have been plenty entertained.
Quoted from hlaj78:How is that walk in a blizzard?
I guess I would have to put on a Davy Crockett and carry little otto.
Quoted from jaytrem:Man, with all the fires, hurricanes, etc., I don't know what I should be upvoting.
While I dont want a Facebook smorgasbord of emoticons, a sympathy or stay strong choice might be nice, more so for health / deaths posts.
First pic is looking east, those are the hills behind Rainbow, where the witch fire broke out. It burned west jumped the 15, and burned about a mile into fallbrook along Reche Rd.
Second pic in south east where the last serious fire started at the junction of the 15 and 76. It burned west, skirting the south of Fallbrook, and into bonsall causing terrible destruction.
Thanks Matt for the orientation, and where potential fires have been and likely again, at some point!
We almost bought this property 2 years ago: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/604-Via-Cumbres-Fallbrook-CA-92028/59790245_zpid/
Maybe it wouldn't have been the best decision.
Appreciate you reaching out!
Nick

Looks like corn.
Maize, Indian corn. It's about 12 feet high, slow growing, makes me look short.
My above post I edited, the witch fire burned WEST. sorry. FFing Santa Anna's.

Quoted from catvilledoorman:The day we had the honor of World's Worst Air....
Looks like it has cleared up some since last week according to the Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency. Hope that trend continues for you and all the Pacific Northwest.
I was outside doing some landscaping when I heard this squeaking sound. After about 10 minutes of hearing it I went to investigate.
How smart is this little f'r? He's sharpening his teeth on some antlers. Looks like he's been doing it for a while. They're all shaved down20200917_101330.jpg

They not only sharpen their teeth they eat them for the left over marrow in them. I used to nail them to a tree in my back yard for the squirrels to eat along with dried field corn.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:For some reason was expecting to see a joint.
Well there's snus there in the pic, so while tobacco not weed it's close.

It's been my experience that fresh water fish in general taste better than salt water fish. And Perch are awesome. They might be my favorite. Don't get me wrong, Walleye is excellent, but Perch are even better. Bass taste great too though.
Least favorite fresh water fish, taste wise, has to be Northern Pike. Though I've never tried Muskie. They're supposed to be just as bad taste wise, but the best fighters (never caught one either).
I know there are just garbage fresh water fish, Dog Fish, Carp, but not even counting those. And I just can't stand Cat Fish. I know a lot of people love Cat Fish.
Crappie and Sunfish, more good stuff, but you need like 20 of them for a decnt meal.lots of work to clean that many.

Best way to enjoy them and get all you can of the meat is to run them through a meat grinder and make patties with it like you would canned salmon. They are fabulously tasty that way and are one of the best fish sandwiches you'll ever eat. I do a lot of fishing in general but make over 3k a summer competing in Catfish and Carp tourney's put on by the local lakes. I also fish in the state Bass tourneys held on the Ohio and Little Miami rivers in southern Ohio. Used to go to a national qualifier for carp in SC every year but have not gotten to go the last two seasons despite having qualified.
Just returned from my annual trip to Yellowstone. I still had thoughts of pinball though during my hike up 10,000+ ft. Mount Sheridan. Wildfire smoke cuts out some of the view.
Luckily Comet put the big writing on my good side. I'll probably have a few more pics coming.

While perch and walleye are excellent... fresh caught //by yourself// halibut or king salmon in the salt can't be beat.

Nice looking pooch. What's his name? Are you at the rabbit hill rd off leash area? Used to love going there with our golden retriever when we lived there.

That's my 4 year old black Lab named Matilda. She's a small field lab. And we were at the Terwillegar off leash dog park. That's our favorite dog park.

Lets not forget skrei or cod from the northern sea.
Quoted from RWH:Cod best tasting saltwater fish IMHO.
Hmm, I do agree but.. Halibut, wild trout, wild salmon..
I do passionately hate farmed fish though. Destroying the fjords, spreading the salmon bug and other fish related hazards.
