LAX to MSP around mid-February. Recognize the city below? I hope you have it by the third picture.

I think I'm sensing sarcasm. If not, the answer was incorrect.

You are right though. You can see Denver on the right side of the plane and Cheyenne on the left about halfway through the flight.

On this flight, all of the mountains in Utah and Colorado were lit brightly by the moon that night. You could see the small ski towns scattered everywhere.

The outline of the airport gave it away for me without looking too closely.

There has been a Bald Eagle hanging out around the farm this year. Every time I try to get a picture of it he/she flies away -- can see me coming from a long ways away. This is the best I could do (for now ).

Caught a trespasser in my backyard this morn. He was trying to set up a den under my shed but thankfully my dogs alerted me to it Sat. Took only a little cantaloupe and some patience and viola got him in my live trap and now relocating him to an area down by Millcrest creek. I'm sure most are familiar with how much damage ground hogs can do if left to their own devices for very long. Chucky will have a new home now.

Is that a good fishing area of the creek? I always wanted to retire with a home that has a lake on it.

Nah, it's a drain really, just eels and mullet in there as far as i know. I'm only an arrow flight from the beach though.

    I have so many questions....

    #679 3 days ago

well, it's a kookaburra. they kill snakes. i like my Bredli pythons, but i don't like cleaning up their cages. Luckily they only crap every few weeks, but you can further reduce that by getting them out and putting them on the grass to exercise they'll often take the chance to go, must be a texture thing, or maybe they don't like their house smelling like shit either.

Problem is that there are sea eagles, kookaburra's, hawks and small dogs as well as the usual cars, trucks and people to watch out for.

Aahhh....I was thinking "toilet train my snake" may have been an Aussie slang for going outside to take a leak

    Good post punkin.
I did correctly guess that the bird on top of the pole was a kookaburra.
Many of you have heard their calls used in various movies over the decades.
    Here's a couple youtube links:
Don't feel like you have to listen/watch the full length of these 1 to 2 minute long videos.

    Copied from Wiki:
Kookaburras are almost exclusively carnivorous, eating mice, snakes, insects, small reptiles, and the young of other birds; unlike many other kingfishers, they rarely eat fish, although they have been known to take goldfish from garden ponds.

Thanks. The Bredli's a bit bigger now, he's a bit over 5' with his flatmate about a foot shorter.
