Quoted from wolffcub:

So asking for a friend.......lets say he want to add 4 more 47 bulbs to the GI wiring. Think will be an issue?

Might be good to pull a few bulbs from the backbox just to even things out. Seems like they put way too many in there anyway. You'll never know the difference with the backglass on. I suppose using all 47s would mitigate the impact as well.

The rollovers dont light up very evenly with the lights on one side of the leaf so i was thinking of adding a second one to each on the opposite side.

Damn... I thought my playfield looked bad... What's the plan for that?

Im sure your talking about the 8ball. I plan on stripping all mech items, clean and do some easy black paint repairs, then level with clear and lock all the old stuff down, then follow up with touch ups and new graphics in the bad areas, then a final clear to lock it all on. Not doing a full repaint. Going to see what I can do with just doing a touch up job.

Yes absolutely... the Sinbad is gorgeous and fantastic! I think you took the original to new heights with your choices.

My EBD has a full mylar on it.. with wear at the multiplier and eight ball target areas as well as the drain area and top arch. I have a replacement one that I am planning to use.... the one I have "might" be a better candidate for restoration... and I am going to sell it if you are interested..

I think I’m going to try my hand at touch ups on it and see if I can Handel it. Might open up the possibility to help others in the future.

Wow! Extraordinary and stunning.

Made some new fir rails. Going to predrill the holes then prime. I think I’m going white as the apron and back apron are still going to be white.

Gun metal apron looks not bad. Maybe gunmetal rails also ?

The Lectronamo has a nice contrast between the gunmetal and white that I like.

I wouldn't change the original apron unless it's bad enough to need a total repaint anyway. Looks good from here.

#118 5 years ago

Im with you on not touching that white apron. Its almost perfect condition wise. I do however have a spare set for the game so I'm thinking i might try one as gunmetal. My reasoning for at least trying it is because the playfield now has a darker surround colour (dark transparent grey) the white aprons on it now always seem to be at such a high contrast your peripheral vision really picks up on them when playing. The gunmetal on the lectronamo I think puts more emphases on whats painted on the playfield with out a distraction.

My thought on the gunmetal rails would it might make the playfield feel wider as you eye would not pick up on the vertical separation for the shooter lane. Maybe this would be a good / interesting feel? Or possibly the side rails white with the inside rail gunmetal?

As the legs are also in the need of refinishing i was thinking them as gunmetal might look sharp.

I am so on the fence with these apron / rail colours.

#119 5 years ago

Oh man I decided to try all gunmetal. I found this awesome darker one and I think it looks killer.

Wow! Fantastic work. And Sindbad is such a worthy object for restoration: simple, but insanely fun.

Technical question: For your Kricut vinyl cutter, how often do you have to change your blade? Also, what angle of blade have you been using for text? I am just blown away that you can get such amazing detail. I have (so far) not been able to get that level of detail with my Silhouette Cameo. I was considering buying one of those Graphtec CB-09 blades but not entirely convinced it will even work. You should post some of these photos to the Silhouette Cameo thread, probably blow everyone's minds!

#123 5 years ago

Using the stock blade for the circut explore air 2 and also using their name brand stencil material. I bought the accessory premium blade but have not yet had a reason to use it.

What is happening when you try to cut small things, if you getting things all bunched up I’m going to say I’m sure your weight setting is prob too high.

I’m blown away how fine it can cut. I have to use my hobby magnifier at times to see what I’m weeding out.

#124 5 years ago

If your using actual frisket material switch it up. I have a roll of it and it cuts horrible.

#125 5 years ago

Never changed the blade yet. It was also used for The Lectronamo rebuild.

#126 5 years ago

Wow, I thought you would have gone through 4 + blades by now! I think you are right, the blade was dragging the stencil material around so it was probably pushing too hard! When I was restoring my Quicksilver I had high hopes to use my vinyl cutter for the text. But most of the text was far too small to get a good result. I guess I will have to practice using it before my next restore!

Take a look at post 88. That sword handle detail it cut no problem.

Well this is it for a while. Blasted and repainted the apron 2 more times due to paint malfunctions. Going to just touch it up for yegpin and look after it after the event. Just need to paint the right pop cap.

I think after I will blast the apron again and instead of lines I might do a long orange flame with white outlines around the cards.

Awesome to see people rocking the high scores yegpin.

Having a slight lighting issue. Changed over to led and noticed one of the spinner advance lights is always on. The old bulb was also always on but so low when not having to actually be displayed it had a slight glow. The led is always on but you can still see it get brighter as it cycles thru it’s paces. The terminal on the new board is L17 and when I unplug that one wire the light goes out fully and stays off permanently so I know it’s not shorting out somewhere else.

Any ideas ?

If that's a Pascal board it's one of the chips on there gone flakey. I've had a few do that, chips are pretty cheap and socketed so easy swap. Shoot Pascal a message and he can tell you which one, they work in pairs.
