Gottlieb, 1978I have a feeling this repaint I’m doing is not sitting well with some people lol. The play field was planking like crazy and the inserts were well sunken. The current second play field in it now is still not the best in the condition but playable. It could just use some touch ups and a new clear but will always look worn.
Started to do more black yesterday after the new clear was sanded. Also started the text on the inserts. Got a jump on the pop bumper caps. Sanded the old ones down and repolished them. Changed the text to the new font and made it larger so it fills the cap.

Original pop bumper design needed to be changed in my opinion. Star was cool but thought something reflecting the designed on the play field would work nicely.

You got really nice skills and while I have some skills in some areas... You are far better in many others.
Still... I really liked this thread and you gave me some ideas. Great work.
Going to let the clear cure for a week before sanding and polish. Got started on the drops and pops.

Not all good news. Some contamination got into the 3000 grit wet sanding and caused some heavy scratching 
it’s not paint deep but it still slightly present after buffing going to live with it as I think i will strip it down again and reclear it when doing another machine play field in the future. It’s time to start to repopulate and get this ready for yegpin. Don’t think I’m going to tackle the cabinet till end of May.

I just zoomed in on the picture you posted...you have some balls to post pictures of that travesty of a playfield...how dare you sir!
Harness on with no issues. Drop targets installed and ready to go. Just the decision on what colour skirts. I thought green was going to be the way but they are too light and look strange in my opinion.

Ha! I didn’t even see the clear ones. That’s a solid choice. Clear has my vote.
Clear would be cool, didn't notice it at first either, but black seems to always get my vote. goes with anything, great contrast, only time I wouldn't vote black is if the area behind it was black.
very impressive sinbad, I hope mine turns out 1/10th as well whenever it makes it to the top of the list.

One minor suggestion: yellow flipper rubber?
With the lane guides above the flippers being yellow, what about upper flipper rubbers in orange, lower in red. Kind of flame-adjacent.
