I am fortunate enough to be helping Clay out with this project, and let me tell you, it's a bit overwhelming. We've got a bit of work to do to get the new hall ready for the pins to move in, but it will be all worth it in the end. For those of you that know Clay, he doesn't waste time on projects. We'll definitely be moved in before the snow flies...

We'll have over 6000 sq. ft. of space, and combining two collections together to have close to 200 games up and playable in the new facility. It's an exciting time for pinball in SE Michigan! Stay tuned for more info....

    Thanks,
    Eric V.

    Hey all,

the location is in a lovely rural area, and there aren't that many houses around. Yet, it's still very easily accessible off of an expressway exit, and close to the major metro areas of Detroit and Ann Arbor.

The main reasons for the limited public hours are zoning/taxes/financial. Clay is funding most of this out of his own pocket, and the general idea is to keep the machines in as good a condition as possible. Thus, the "private" status of the museum. It's not that we want to keep away the close-knit and friendly pinball community. It's just that we really don't want packs of unsupervised, raging 8-year-olds wandering through the place either...

If you go and check out the KickStarter campaign website, you'll see that many of the contribution levels come with opportunities for private showings. As some of you know and have visited us in the past, we've had a bit of that same model at the current warehouse for the past couple years. Now we'll be able to have open events four weekends a year. Plans aren't final on what those four events will be, but we've got some neat ideas in the works....

    Thanks,
    Eric V.

Wow! Two days in and we're well on our way to our goal! Thank you all so much for your help with this project, both financially and from the supportive comments. I'm so glad to be a part of this great pinball community, and especially all of the fantastic folks here on Pinside.

Just remember, anything over our goal will go towards other improvements than the roof. If you check out the website, www.vfwpinball.com, you can see that we're tearing down a couple of walls and re-doing some drywall and flooring. Every little bit helps....

    Thanks,
    Eric V.
