Quoted from CALencio:

I think I've finally had enough airballs from the Jesus/Maude rubber post split that the spot light has finally quit on me. No more jiggling has got it working. Any pointers on fixing it or replacement parts? Could it be a loose wire at the light itself?

I would recommend taking a close look at the lower playfield window to ensure that it is flush to the playfield. If it's slightly raised in the top right corner, then that could be the cause of your airballs to that post. Similar conversations have been documented about the upper left side contributing to airballs off of the right stand-up lock switch on the left ramp. I have had to adjust my window a few times but it really makes a difference. To adjust, you'll need some trial and error by either loosening or tightening the fastners underneath the playfield that secure the window and then putting the playfield down to test how flush it is

No I actually didn’t know it was replaceable. How does it work maybe it’s just a bad bulb I thought it was just an all in one integrated part that had to be replace.

It’s an assy similar to this one

https://www.pinballlife.com/playfield-accent-spotlight-assembly.html

Just take out the led, it’s a 12VDC version, bent the contact wires a little outwards and re insert. Good chance it will work again.

Yes it’s behaving like the contacts need to be bent out. Thanks for the help Rensh. Didn’t realize it was a bulb. I thought it was some special assembly. I’m such a noob

fixed. It was the contacts. Thanks all!!!!

Quoted from Rensh:

All leds are controlled via the 2 pdled boards below the main playfield. Have you already tried removing them and put back again, eg reseated them? And if that doesn’t do the trick reseat also Proc board.

I just had a lights flickering / blinking /other issue and this fixed it, fyi. The two boards are screwed in and they are hard to pull out, but sit nicely back in place.

Hi there...is there an easy way to realign the garage door on TBL? The door does not close correctly (I think) and it bangs against the garage for several seconds before stopping.

Yes, you need to take the roof off and then the metal walls off.
From here you adjust the 1 or 2 screws that hold the car to the servo motor shaft.

I did it about a month or so ago. See post below.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/a-lotta-ins-a-lotta-outs-tbl-maintenance-thread/page/27#post-7034779

By the way, I would be more concerned that if it gets to low, it will scrape your mini-playfield clear coat....so adjusting it is a must.

This method is for when your door is tilted under an angle. Here more likely is that the cardoor closed switch needs some adjustment. Looks like it triggers to early leaving the door slightly open.

See the proper page in the service faq but if you remove the roof you can already see the switch. Should be an easy adjustment.

Thank you very much for the responses, I will give it a try.

I am getting a repeated firing of what I think is the Jesus VUK when launching balls in the Bowling Mode skill shot method.

It will fire 4-10 times and then calm down during play. I can’t figure out why it’s only a problem then. It doesn’t really happen when using the Jesus VUK during normal gameplay.

I did bend the contact for the “Y” looking piece of the VUK switch away so it created more of a gap, in case the black plastic “catcher” piece was touching the contact after firing once, but it didn’t seem to help.

I can try bending it out even more, but just seems a bit odd.

Good afternoon everyone! We just joined the club! Received our machine Wednesday and set it up today.

Only issue I have so far is the car will not swing out, it makes a fast pace clicking sound. Anyone have some advice on this one?

Cherry switch behind it needs adjustment.
Take the black roof off to access the switch.

Thank you for the reply CPR9999! I've adjusted leaf switches but can't recall cherry switch adjusting. Can you elaborate on that switch adjustment by chance?

I love your mods for Lebowski and will be putting an oder in tomorrow.

Pretty sure that fixed it. I took the roof off and then located the switch. I bent the switch a little more forward, the car is now registering closed.

Good to read its fixed

You are aware that their is a service faq which also describes this issue?

Greetings Guys.
Just wanted to circle back on the Jesus shot and the bounce outs I was getting. As posted above, simply lift the upper PF and remove the metal bracket (two screws) by the VUK. I had planned to add drop dead foam in the area, but simply removed the metal bracket at that seems to do the trick. I could be wrong, but I believe newer games do not have this bracket.

Well god damn, I been having this problem more than I like to admit but live with it cause Jesus shot would still register even though it rejected. Good to know there is a a potentially easy solution, I never wanted to get into messing with it.

This is not new

It’s even marked as a keypost.

CyberNinja24, What serial # is your TBL machine? I have TBL # 620 and I do get some bounce-outs from my Jesus shots. Thanks, mk

#1473 1 year ago

I have number 602.
I’d highly recommend removing the bracket.

I’m assuming the upper playfield needs removed to take off the bracket, is that correct?

Yes.

#1476 1 year ago

Yep. I followed the instructions and it was pretty easy. Remove the upper PF. I had work to do on the upper flipper, so I had that off, which allowed for easy access to remove the upper PF. Simply remove the metal bracket by the VUK. I found it a good exercise to remove the upper PF. Not difficult at all.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement upper playfield flipper bushing? Should I design/3D print my own replacement? Put a stock part on it? I'm open to ideas. I emailed support but no response yet so figured it couldn't' hurt to ask here. Thanks!!!

You mailed me just last Saturday. My last holiday weekend

Anyway, we have come up with a new solution for this (a new very long flipperbushing coming from the main playfield) but they are held up in customs

I will get back to you once I know more.

For now, just re install the flipper and make sure there the flipper isn’t scraping the playfield. If you leave the broken off part on the axis you should be fine, just double check.

I have the same issue! It takes extra time to adjust the flipper without the bushing, but I basically got it to work fine. Would be nice to have the updated version when it’s available.

Just received my final invoice so I expect it isn't long now before I finally receive my TBL! Question: there is a TON in this forum and much of it seems to relate to earlier builds of the game. I'm hoping mine will be good to go out of the box but are there any "must do" items upon arrival? Things to check that might still be an issue?

Thanks!

So, more info on this topic.

See attached picture (of a proto) where you can see a white bushing coming from below playfield to the MPF. This gives you an idea.

I am getting the part hopefully for the weekend. Than I can make a faq on it.

Also a new plastic is needed just to be sure the bushing fits through (needed yes-no depends on the tolerances of the existing plastic; we decided to include it in the kit to be sure). If you need to replace the plastic it will be required to take off the MPF. For later builts which have the car stepper on the mpf this sounds much worse than it is.

Bushing plus plastic will be total eur 20,00. This excl VAT and shipping.

Slow shipping to US is eur 17,50, express shipping eur 50,00.

I would await my faq but if you want one sent mail to [email protected]

Any chance someone can buy a bunch of these so we save on shipping costs?

I just designed and 3D printed my own replacement based on the measurements taken from the broken one. Granted it's not "production" ready/quality and I could have tweaked the tolerances a bit but it got the job done... LOL

All my LEDs work great in attract mode and when playing the game, but when I test the RGB LEDs in test mode, ONLY the arrow on The Dude ramp and the left arrow on the upper playfield light up. None of the other arrows do. Also, the Let’s Go Bowling light on the saucer doesn’t light up either in test mode.

Again - this is only in test mode when cycling through these. Is this normal? If not, why is it not cooperating in test mode but works fine in regular game play?

#1492 1 year ago
Quoted from TomDK:

I had the first year (!!) massiv problems with my garage door and the targets. I bought a new version MPF kit, new switches ... with no success.
After I removed the MPF again I figured out that the "door" scratched on the upper metall frame. This was the issue. Several times I tried to bed it the right position but at least I put a washer under ALL screws mounting the housing to the MPF. That works !!
Since the door is so easy to slide that a hit will move it forward, than the motor opens it again.
maybe also your issue ![quoted image][quoted image]

Hey DO I need to take the roof off the garage to adjust that switch? My car is closing and then "skipping". I assume I just have to adjust that switch out a bit to register a close. Cheers

How do I get to the lock nuts unnderneath the switch?!

Update: I used bent needle nose pliers from my neighbor. Just ordered a set lol.

It turns out the micro switch, from what I can tell, has failed. I re soldered the terminals and the switch was inconsistent still. I closed the circuit at the terminals with a test wire and it registers fine on the machine so it appears isolated at the switch itself. Seems odd though for a game that’s only got 450 games on it and a switch that doesn’t get crazy use.

Found this in the cabinet right side towards the back. Anyone have any ideas on where this came from as it's obviously longer than the playfeild is thick.

Looks like a screw which is used to secure the MPF. There are three of them. Thinking of other possibilities but that’s the first one which comes into mind.

Could it be one of the screws that hold the back board on all the way in the back?
