Came up with this riddle last night and my son (who's in college) thought it was a pretty good one so I'll test it out here.

    Roy in the rain
    Joe in the snow

Now he needed a small hint but lets see how fast you people are. (please do not google...it's not an existing riddle but googling it will give it away real easy).

    Hill Street Blues or
    Pete in the sleet?

    #3 1 year ago

Roy in the Rain conjures up visions of Roy Batty's monologue at the end of Blade Runner.
I haven't a clue on the Joe in the snow reference.

    Nope

    You sir are very close.

Thats it.....you had it. Joe in the snow is 2049

    Ending of both.....

AM I REAL, WHAT DO YOU KNOW?

    That's it!

Roy dies in the rain in the original Blade Runner and Joe dies in the snow in 2049.

    I don’t get the riddle....

I got that it was the Bladerunner movies right away...which only confirms that my nerdy/geeky meter is off the scale.

You lost me at, “Came up with this riddle”...

Yea, it hit a part of my brain that doesn't get nearly enough exercise. I guess that's what made it a fun little topic to check back on. Turns out I had no chance since I've never been much of a movie watcher... It was fun - thanks for posting. Maybe this thread can live on if anyone else can post another riddle in response?

Thanks for telling the end of the movie I was just about to watch! I just bought 2049 and haven’t seen it yet!

How is that a riddle? It’s just the end of two movies not a play on words or a puzzle.

    #14 1 year ago

Never saw any Bladerunner movies. Sorry.

Roy in the rain and Joe in the snow....not a play on words? Plus with no hints you have to figure out what the connection is....hence a riddle.

No, it is not a riddle.

With riddles, the clues are in the question, so anybody could figure it out.

I don't see any "play on words" unless there is a double meaning.

"Roy" and "rain" could maybe be called an alliteration, although they are really just two words that start with the same letter.

"Joe" and "snow" are just two words that rhyme.

Yea, I always thought most riddles could possibly be figured without having to
know anything other than what was asked.. This I consider a riddle:

That attorney is my brother, testified the accountant.
But the attorney testified he didn't have a brother.
    Who is lying?

    Who is lying?

Neither. The accountant is the attorney's sister.

But the attorney is still probably lying because he's an attorney.

Ha ha, you guessed it! The attorney was the liar..
