I recently acquired my first pin, and I'm restoring it with my sons. It was non working when we got it, and after replacing a few transistors and the resistors for the +100 and -100 volt it's working and we played our first games. When replacing some of the bulbs I found that the 'eye' flashers in the head box a bit strange and I think they have been wrongly installed from the factory and have been wrong for the last 30+ years in my pin.
I added some pictures circling the lamps that are flashing and how it's wired on the backside.
As you have the same pin, can you confirm this is a mistake, and if so, can you take a picture of the backside of the lamp panel so I can see how I can properly rewire it. Can you also take a picture of the bottom side of the comet entry gate, so on the bottom of the playfield. Are there supposed to be nuts here or is it just 'screwed' into the playfield?

Thanks for the post... but I sold my Comet 3 weeks ago.

The "eyes" bulb both a flash and stay on all game long; I'm not sure what you mean by the "eyes" acting odd.

Anyway..... good luck.
