Fun Land Game Over relay (resized).jpg
Fun Land 09 Unit (resized).jpg

Hi all,

I have a few issues remaining on my Gottlieb Fun Land.

Instead of listing them at once. I'd like to tackle them in order of importance (to me).

1st issue: when the spinners stop on 500 or 50 points, everything is good, however when it stops on 5 pts, the 1pt relay fires and the correct score is added but the 0-9 unit does not move, hence no bell is sounded. If any 1pt switch is activated, the 0-9 unit rotates and the bell is heard. If I manually close the 1pt relay, the 0-9 unit rotates and the bell is heard. I thought that maybe the 1pt relay if firing too quickly to close the switch that controls the 0-9 unit properly, but I cleaned and gapped that switch as closely as possible and it still doesn't work, not even once out of the five pulses.

any thoughts?

2nd issues has to do with 3 or 5 ball play, I'll get to that one later.

The C/Spin Spotting relay is what fires to give the 5/50/500 points based on the position of the Y relay (AS style) stepper disc. At the same time it breaks the circuit into the 0-9 Unit.

I think your game is doing what it should.

Thanks Mark,

I don't know that I would have ever seen that connection. It's pretty odd that there aren't any bells or chimes associated with that scoring, when there is with everything else.

Of course, there was no bell on the 0-9 unit when I got the machine, even though there was a clapper. I guess one's did not make any sound from there factory. Kinda odd.

The 2nd issue it, that when I set the game for 3 ball play, the rule set changes (to one I like better than on 5 balls). However, the game still plays 5 balls. The "last Ball in Play" light does light on ball # 3.

It's just the 5 points from the spinner thingy that don't chime. The other 1 point targets should. It may have been a way to foil those who were trying to predict the match digit.

Does the X/Game Over relay fire at the right time? If not it may be the path through the Ball Count Unit.

I'm not with the machine now, I'll check and get back to you but the machine will play 5 balls before going to game over.
