Finally my AS Pro arrived, i was overexited.

But lets go alittle back in time...
I had my MM for about 5 years, nice condition, gold, clearcoated cabinet and playfield, played it like crazy, its a top pin, but eventuelly got tired of it, not of gameplay, but of the same background music, looping over and over again, well when i play, i play with allmost max volume on. Pinball is about 40% visual 48% audio and last 2% is the feeling of the steel ball, thats why visualpinball still aint the same.
Well my MM was out, and needed a replacement, free space means new pin, isint that the rule?

I played Ghostbusters LE, Aerosmith LE, Walking dead LE,GOT LE, Batman66 LE, Star Trek LE, and i loved most of them.

Next step was choosing inbetween GB, ST or AS, Ghostbusters was on top, but becouse of all the issues, i dropped it, then it was on star trek, its highrated and fun, but when i looked at artwork and dmd display VS on Aerosmith, i was like, whaaat!

I saw chriss buttis video review and agreed on, Aerosmith premium and pro model isint worth the extra cash. AS Pro got orderd.

My nib AS Pro looks and feels so nice, i love it, gameplay is top fun, artwork is incredible, love the metal ramps, love narrow shot inbetween popbumpers, (like on my congo) LOVE the lcd screen, evevator rules/shot is so awesome, build quality is much better then i expected, and the best part, music oohhhh man the music. sound system, volume on 35 its just great.

My little 6 year old son wa devestated when i told hin MM was sold, he loved bashing the castle and poppin them trollz, but the minnut he start playing Aerosmith listening to the music, MM was long forgotten. Haha that's one protected pin!! If you slide it down a flight of stairs it should hold up nicely

#11 1 year ago

Nice story DEN and great pics. I kept reading and waiting for you to give us the bad news.....Glad it didn't happen!

I can't top that story but when I first unboxed mine I was really blown away at how awesome the artwork on the game looked and good the clearcoat was on the playfield. Just a beautiful pinball machine all the way around.

As far as gameplay goes, I wasn't overwhelmed at first, but once I started learning the rules and the more I played it I quickly became addicted to it and to this day 3 months later I still love it. It is never ever leaving my collection ever!

Congrats on your new Game DEN.......its a beauty!

#12 1 year ago

Dude, fantastic thread. Wish I had your skills...or balls to do some of the enhancements you've done. Nice job on this.

Hahahahahahahaaaaaa, maby its alittle too much but im tellin ya, it feels great, airballs doesent hurt, full power, blast to play

Those red cliffy rubbers at right ramp, makes it allmost impossible to get the ball up there.

Thanks man, thank you
I haven't have time to play it that much yet, i love the elevator multiball mode, hard to get, but rewarding for sure.
Modes, ive mostly played rats in the celler, just because i like the track.
Little confuced, some songs gets completed at end of 30mins. Some just saves my shots, and sweat emotion resets. 3different ways to finish modes. Or maby i just don't understand em yet.

I'm also happy NOT to have bad news yet, i must say, I actually am surprised over the stern quality this time. It makes me want to order a GB Pro.

Keep on flippin bro.

Your pin pics here will be appreciated, any upgrades/mods?

Thanks bro. Skills,it's actually pretty simple job, Aerosmith pro playfield is pretty empty, i will gladly help or guide you, if you want to doo the same as my pin.

I love my Aerosmith allready, and with ALL the airballs goin on, pf protector and plastic protector is a great upgrade.

I have not done any mods at all yet to my AS. The game is already loaded with great features like the sound, the LCD screen etc that I'm pretty happy with it. There will probably be something that someone comes up with though that I can't live without I bet lol. As far as pics go, I need to work on posting some. I posted one of my motorcycle a long time ago but I haven't tried it since and I mostly post from my phone so I'm not sure how easy it is. I will look into it though.

As far as GB goes, if there is anyway you can swing it I would personally get the Premium because I think the extra features it has is worth it personally. The Pro is also a great pin but the Premium is really sweet. I am a Pro guy but when I played GB Premium, I had to save a little longer and splurge for it. It's probably the only Premium that I will ever buy but I'm glad that I got it.

#17 1 year ago

Great pics and congratulations!! Definitely go 2.5" on the slings.

#18 1 year ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

I found the sound slightly better than most music pins, however, once you see the cheap-ass speakers Stern installs in AS, it's a joke. It is a music pin after all, so if there is a "must have" mod for AS ... ya gotta get Fidelity speakers & 100W sub. It just makes the whole experience even that much greater.

#19 1 year ago

I really like how you protected your game and the yellow plastic protectors really light up the pf.

Yeah I don't disagree at all MacLean, I just meant the upgrade from the old Sam system compared to the new Spike system. How much money does it cost to upgrade the speakers and to add a sub? I bet that sounds awesome!

#21 1 year ago

Congrats Den,

10 seconds after my legs were on and the pin was plugged in I was flipping balls!

Awesome pin.

Fidelity speakers $150. + sub $100. so it's the best $250. you'll ever spend.

I would say go for it, but before that advice, whitch pins doo you like? Whats your top 5?

#28 1 year ago

nice work DEN. thanks for sharing.

#29 1 year ago

Great idea putting metal cabinet protectors on - plastic are rubbish. Legs push hard and go into decal.

I found out that KISS protector works for AS - 100% worth doing. And fitted outhole protector.

Wood definitely softer on this game so all the cabinet stuff is well worth doing!

I love how Metallica looks and plays (and sounds) so Aerosmith seems like a good match for me. How the game looks is really important and honestly I don't think you can get much better than Metallica and Aerosmith. Thank you Dirty Donny!

Never a bad idea to put protectors on the shooter lane, especially the way things have been going recently. I just put down some mylar on mine and so far so good. The ball doesn't seem to eject into the shooter lane overly hard like it does on GB.

#32 1 year ago

Thanks for the post. It would be nice to see you post on Star Wars, if you are getting one.

Thanks.

Interesting. I don't think Cliff knows the Kiss kit works for AS. I emailed him a couple weeks ago about an AS protector and he said he didn't have one yet unless I wanted to pull the wireform out of the PF.... I'll email him again. Thanks for posting this!

Can someone please upload where stern places flippers. I adusted slightley off, this made my right ramp shots easyer(yea its chearing)

IMG_1147 (resized).JPG

#37 1 year ago

Okey flippers adjusted all fine, but still need more protection around flipperbuttons.
Replaced stock white buttons too. Maby in the future (if i can manage, ill install led lights on them)

Does anyone use stern balls? They are not shiny at all, more like gray. They are still in the goodybag, im using premium shiny ones

Ps. My starwars LE should be in Denmark late august.

I don't use the Balls that come with my new games but I didn't have any super shiny ones when I got my Aerosmith and I used the ones they sent me. They look good and haven't caused any trouble at all to my game.

#39 1 year ago

They looks doll and used, dint understand why stern doesent use few bucks more and include descent balls. Everything else on Aerosmith is so shiny right?

DEN the balls that came with mine actually look good and shiny.

#41 1 year ago

Seems like the first balls that go in a game get really beat up. If the balls are just dull I say use them and swtich to the shiny ones after playing a bit.

#42 1 year ago

Balls are balls for god sake. I never understood why this is a thing that people are anal about, and I am super anal. If they get less shiny, can't you just put them in a metal polisher?

I don't really know. I'm no expert on pinballs but I've heard that in the past Stern used balls that were just horrible. I've also heard from several people that the ones they are sending now with games are a lot better than they used to be. Mine looked like any other balls so I used them.

#44 1 year ago

DEN great thread and super looking game. I love your passion here. I intend to follow this thread and use the same products if I get an Aerosmith. I also really like the pro in this title.

Your son will love it. The toy box is an awesome playfield toy.

I'm curious from owners, if this game has deep enough code and fun factor to last a long time in home like Metallica? I'm really considering it, but can't tell if it's lastability will hold up. I'm debating between AS pro, DI, and SW premium.

The code is not deep like TWD or GOT etc but the game is as fun as pinball gets and it's addicting also. I have an AS Pro and I can guarantee you that it never will leave my collection.

The problem with deep games is that unless you are a tournament player, you don't get to see some of the modes.

TWD is epic but I would never get last man standing on factory. Actually didn't even get terminus or siege in 18 months of ownership.

AS is deep enough for me but a few extras and a bit more polish of the code would really help.

#48 1 year ago

I'm an average player at best, but the worst thing for me is getting to all the modes too quickly and having no drive to get back to wizard modes. I want a challenge that is possible, yet rare to achieve. I don't get caught up in going for high score in a home environment, but rather getting through the game. AS looks tough, but shallow in rules. I really enjoyed it though when I played, and the machine is beautiful.

Very hard to complete Medley wizard mode - code needs tweaking for sure.

And the final wizard mode must be hard as not read of anyone getting there yet!
